OK I just made this recording from my backyard, I know it is a poor recording but you can hear the whatever I've never heard before.
This was taken just after dusk this evening, there are tons of crickets and such you can hear but what is the weird repeating whistle sound?

Here is the weirdness.

I hear a bunch of bugs and a small mammal or bird.
Link Posted: 8/13/2011 6:56:13 PM EDT
I'm going to guess: What is some kind of bird?

It is rather faint, but I can hear it it sounds like a whistle of some type that starts high and goes lower, it repeats several times about 3 seconds apart.
Might need to turn up your speakers.

Go to Youtube, search "Bigfoot Sounds," and play some of the mysterious recordings they have there.

Turn your speakers up, and watch your dogs go berzerk when they hear them!

That's what mine does.

You have to turn it up kind of loud to hear what he is talking about.

I missed it the first time too.

I believe it's a North American Hairless two thumbed Wombat, although I don't think the OP is being honest, that is the Wombats Spring mating call, clearly this wasn't recorded recently.

Screetch owl. Plain ol' screetch owl. If you sit still and do the same whistle he'll fly up close to you. Just don't move.
