My last thread, what is the most third world place in the U.S. got me thinking...

Send me your stories of the most Third World place in los Estados Unidos...

My entrant...current Congressman and former mayor of Kansas City Reverend Emanuel Cleaver..."Corruption is often the price of progress."  His answer after not paying his taxes.  His penalty, you ask?  Election to the Congress.  That will show him.

Corruption is corruption no matter who does it.  That said, Democrat corruption is either passed over, barely acknowledged, or excused.  With the large influx of third worlders who have the option of NOT assimilating (unlike my parents), their vote will always go to whoever will provide things they can't provide for themselves.  And Dems are good at this game.

How about this guy: William Jefferson (D) LA

Not only did he commandeer a NG vehicle and men to get his belongings during Katrina, when others were in more need, he also got caught red handed with some dirty money.  It's not everyday someone keeps +/- $100k wrapped in foil in the refrigerator! Re-elected he did!

Gotta love Hialeah, the third most heavily-armed municipality in the world.

My vote would still be Laredo. What an utterly God-foresaken shithole.

Oakland, California.  Consistently bested San Francisco for murder rate.  It's East Bay siblings slightly north of it, Richmond & Vallejo, are trying to rival Oakland in terms of minority on minority murder (read that as black on black).

Baltimore qualifies for sure, but I think Philly and DC have it beat. I'm getting ready to head right into the belly of the Baltimore beast right now in fact, but only to go to the football game.

What worries me is the increasing amount of corrupt cops and border patrol which seems to have a certain ethnic hue to it. And I don't just mean along the border I mean all over the country. Whenever I see a story of cops selling drugs or whatever, I have a picture in my mind... then when I see the mugshots I'm like "yep".

My Grandparents lived in West Virginia. Deep in the hills. They had land but were cash poor. In to the mid 70's, they had no indoor plumbing. My grandmother drew water out of a well off the back porch. The outhouse was down the hill about 100 yards or so. At night, they still used chamber pots.

Neighbors up the road would bath in the cistern near the foundation of an old house on my grandparents property,

My Uncle and his family lived down the road from my grandparents but still on the family property. When my uncle decided that he wanted an indoor toilet, he didn't want to bother with a septic tank. He dug a cesspool about 6 feet from the house. It was just an open hole that the sewage would drain into.

The worst third world shithole I have been in is a village in India.  Much worse than most places in China, and I have been to a lot of them.

Not much in the US can compare, but there areas of some cities that are much more dangerous.

Harrisburg PA has some third world charm, Newark New Jersey, and Watts district in Los Angeles are the three that come to mind.

Many of the border towns on the American side of the Mex. border are pretty 3rd world, it just sort of 'over flows' from the Mex. side.

Gawd I fucking hate  Mexico.

Nah. They keep Little Baghdad pretty darned nice, especially when you consider that the very worst parts of Detroit aren't far off. Mostly Lebanese, Iraqis, and Syrians in Dearborn.

Hamtramck, on the other hand, went from bad to amazingly worse with the introduction of Saudi (not rich oil barons, just dirt-poor Saudis), Yemenis, Pakistanis, etc. Night and day difference, IMO.

I doubt that. Dearborn tends to be on the nicer side even with the arab population.
