Is my buddy FOS or what ... I bought a bottle of Chimay Gran Reserve and he says I should store it on its side (like wine) instead of straight up and down.

To be fair, the bottle has a real cork, not a twist or regular cap like Miller, Bud, etc. So I guess storing on its side would keep the cork from drying out.

Keep in mind I'm not going to be keeping this bottle for very long. I intend to use it within the next week or two.

I've never kept beer long enough to worry about storing it.

if it has a cork, it must be stored on its side, otherwise to cork WILL dry out over time.

Hmm, I guess he's right ... first time I've ever bought beer that had a proper cork in it.

Finer things in life are just not my speed, I guess.
