I am new to this and have a few questions, dont want to let the goodness go to waste.   I usually cook bacon in a skillet which leaves bacon crumbs, so I drained my drippings into a ball mason jar through a coffee filter.  It worked fantastic, and is now clear as store bought oil.  How should this be stored?  Fridge?  Cabinet?  How long will it last?  Will it Spoil?

Store in glass jar in refrigerator.

Put in hot grease from griddle, explode glass, burn hands, start thread on ar15.com

You don't even have to refrigerate it if you don't want to.

Some people store it in the cupboard some people in the fridge. some people filter it, some don't.

I don't filter and I leave it in the fridge. I suppose you could clean it out every couple years or so, depending on how regularly fresh stuff gets added.

I store it a can on the counter. It will last a while. Just use it up every so often in some cornbread and you won't have to worry about it being around too long.
My parents always left it out. I've never seen it strained, waste of time.

We always just pour ours into a coffe cup and put plastic wrap over the top and store it in the refrigerator.  Works just fine.

I let it sit in the pan until it turns solid. By then the glass jar I pulled out of the fridge has warmed up some. Turn the burner to low to melt the grease and pour it in the jar.

Unfiltered and in the fridge.

I just fried 2 lbs of bacon just a few minutes ago, to make BLT's for lunch.

....and I released the bacon grease back into the wild by pouring it on the ground outside. Did I do wrong?

Water that spot every other day or so for the next 2 weeks, and within 8-10 months you should have either a bacon shrub or short-ish tree (depending on the nitrogen content of your soil)

Bacon grease is to be saved back and used as grilling enhancement to steak, pork, chicken, and several other foods - NEVER throw out bacon grease!!

Tell the wife if she applies some to her neck and naval area, you will not be able to resist her under any circumstances.   No disrespect meant to your wife, but this will aid you in your burn rate of bacon grease.

Seriously though, I usually just use left over jam/jelly jars that are small and fit into leftover space in the fridge or pantry.  If you're starting to acquire too much of it, you're not using enough of it.  I use it for just about everything possible.  If you grill/bbq chicken, put a little on the skin of the chicken.  Be careful not to scorch it though.  It'll taste like heaven with just a little salt/pepper while it's cooking.

Bacon-aise.

It takes little to no effort once you know how to make mayo with it and you'll never buy store bought junk made with vege oil again.  It, flat out, makes the best ranch dressing.
