Thanks Mike, and I too need to apologize for some of the things that were posted. SteyrAug and I had a nice conversation in chat, and I think be both see eye to eye. Also while in chat, I offered to refund David Hineline his $60 membership fee out of my own pocket. My reason for this is because of the many folks who he has treated poorly over the years. Although I'm not an angel, I try to do the best that I can for the site. If I'm too outspoken, I'm sorry.

I think that was well said Beer_Slayer.
I basicly agree with your assessment. Sometimes it seems GB is the ONLY reasonable one. I do think AUG was out of line but a couple of the MODS have been out of line too. Members can screw things up BUT mods can too. We don't need to create more work for the mods BUT the rules need to be enforced consistently. And people, abide by the reasonable rules set forth in the code of conduct OR deal with the results. Everyone needs to chill! p.s. PEEP |

-As usual, I missed it, but I've been reading all the threads relating to this, and SA's original reply to BigPig was far too severe. BUT: If a moderator is going to lock a thread, he or she should at least have the integrity to back up his own decision, not hide behind GB's authority. BigPigs's subsequent posts in some of the other threads come across as amazingly arrogant, in my opinion. Such arrogance doesn't really need to be in any position of authority. I had a thread locked by GB, and I e-mailed him asking why, and he told me. As it happened it was a complete misunderstanding, and I informed him of this. Problem solved, and in a CIVIL manner (and I'm a REAL *sshole, not some cheap imitation). I can understand SA's ire at what was obviously a bad call by a moderator, but he really should have handled it better than he did, and BigPig only adds to the fire with his arrogant remarks. And that's the way I see it.

I agree with beer slayer.
I have lost so much respect for the MODS and STAFF of this page over the last few days I do not believe that I can truly express myself here. AUG f***ed up. Okay. But the threats and asinine behavior of the people whom I so recently would have driven miles to have a beer with just makes me sick. I had been feeling guilty about not sending in the $60. As a consumer I am now glad that I have not invested in this endeavor. I will await the out come of this incident to see if I will invest any more time or money in this sight. The fact that this incident will just not die should be a clue to the Staff that there are a lot of pissed off consumers out here. |

FYI, I have been coming to this page nearly every night for the last 4 years. Many of my personal friends are on these boards. I helped sign up a buddy tonight. So you see I have an instrest in this, for lack of a better word, community. |

To my way of thinking, the real root problem here is not the mods or Steyr, or even Hineline, it's the idiots that insist on posting porn in the BOTD threads. BOTD was openly a NON porn thread every time it was started. Without fail, someone posts what is obviously porn in the threads and the mods have to keep after it, which soon becomes a burden.
Steyr apologized and that's good enough for me. He's not the one posting porn, he just spazzed during a misunderstanding. He contributes a lot more than he takes from here and that is admirable. The mods HAVE to be tired of babysitting adults in the BOTD threads. So it comes down to: how can we keep the little kiddies from abusing the BOTD threads? I have no idea what the answer is. |
