First, quit yer bitching. Too many negative waves.

The Star Wars TV series will soon start production in New Zealand/Australa.

It will cover the time span between Episodes III and IV; it will focus on characters like Han Solo and Boba Fett.

The whole first season run will be written all in advance of filming and will be serial instead of episodic, with a continuing storyline like Battlestar Galactica, rather than self-contained stories like Star Trek. Thank God.

I for one am looking forward to this, as I'm a big fan of the Empire forces; give me the classic Ep IV Stormtroopers anyday!.

Live action or animated?

Would love to see more of the supporting cast.

Most importantly, who's writing?

Think about it...in the Star Wars galaxy I think most probably EVERYONE who is not a force-adept is a bad shot; ranges that could handle blaster fire would be prohibitably expensive, so training would be limited to functionality. I think the powers that be just issue the weapons and expect massed fires to get the desired results.

everything I've read said it won't touch established characters like Solo more than just super short cameos

I saw this talked about awhile ago.  If this is done correctly, it could be one of the most popular TV series of all time.

I have the original advertisements cut out from newspapers. They are in a scrapbook around here somewhere.

Not sure if I made it opening day (I was seven at the time), but I did see it in 1977.
