That's what I love about GD. Even when there's fail, there's win.

I hope JJ Abrams makes a sequel to the JJ Abrams directed "Star Trek" because everything JJ Abrams does is gold to me.

He hasn't let me down yet. I even loved the lens flares. He never should have apologized for those.

Hopefully the same cast. They were pretty good.

agreed. It was pretty enjoyable for a remake. They definitely did better than the *new* star wars trilogy.

Adam Carolla tells a story about being with Jimmy Kimmel one day, and they drove past a movie theater where hundreds of people were lined up to see Star Wars: Episode One. As they passed, Adam leaned out the window and yelled, "Star Trek sucks!"

The crowd was:

I heard three total (two more), but that'll probably change anyway.

IMDB says they all signed on to make the next one. Its supposed to be out in 2012.

Uh oh, might want to see that one in the theater then. If you wait until it comes out on video, the world may have ended before you get the chance.

I wish JJ would go back and make a movie from the "countdown" comic.

It tells the lead in story for the last movie.

Captain Data, General Worf, Ambassodors Picard and Spock...it would be a good flick.

QUESTION FOR YOU STAR TREK GURUS.

When JTK (the kid in the stringray) dumped the car over the cliff...was that the cliff that the borg made using their laser shit. I was wondered that.

Shouldn't that be Admiral Worf, not general?

General Worf of the Klingon Empire.

Klingon's don't have Admirals.

They're either going to have to give Data an aging chip or film him 80' away through smoke and a shower curtain or something. Brent Spiner is 61 years old, ffs.

The Xindi weapon made a big cut down in south Florida. The car chase was in Iowa, wasn't it?

You may have a good point there. I do not remember how long the cut was.

Countdown is set eight years after Nemesis.

Worf must have settled the score once and for all, if he is a General.

Don't really care. The first movie wasn't any good.

Hope so I am life long ST fan and I loved this latest remake

better than the last 3 regular ST movies IMO

Cut down on the lens flare and a little more judicial use of shakeycam is all I ask.

I hate some of the tech changes they made (those fucking nacelles, rocket exhaust, engineering that looks like a fucking brewery or water treatment plant, transporting across light years, chrome flip phasers) but I guess we're stuck with that now.

As for the cast and characters as they were in the first one? They're great. Run with it and see where it goes. I'll be there for the ride.

Generations was barely watchable. Well, the Kirk parts were OK.

First Contact kicked ass! One of the best ST movies.

Insurrection was just dumb.

Nemesis had potential, but was meh.

Agreed.

First Contact truly is the best one. Not bad, Commander Riker (director).

Agree 100%

I liked the lens flare, though I agree with the part about the shakeycam. Why is that so popular in recent years? The last two Bourne movies (especially the last) were completely unwatchable.

The one with Picard and the Borg was the best. (Forgot the name of the movie)

JJ is big on the shaky cam thing.

Think "Cloverfield".

It's obvious they had a great time making it. Hope they can keep that alive for the next ones

It was a fucking brewery. Anheuser-Busch in Van Nuys. Budgetary reasons.

IMHO, First Contact is second only to The Wrath of Khan.

Star Trek is now a zombie franchise.

It's just shambling along making vague motions and sounds like it's former self, but with no life or soul inside it.

First Contact only seemed good because Generations sucked so hard.

Insurrection and Nemesis were just two giant face palms.

What was the name of the movie that Kirk was on trial for killing one of the Klingon High command officers.
