YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! Compliments to Mrs. Quib! Would she care to IM me a recipe for this delight? We also own a Gasthaus, but here in TX. I would be forever grateful. [:D]

No weapons are required to defend it, trust me, no man-made ones that is. Come close to my plate (if it looks like that) and... Looks great, feel free to over-night any leftovers to me.

All you need for that pic to qualify is: a Luger and a good German beer! Looks like a great meal.

My Grandmother made meals like that.....Her maiden name was Shellhorn...

A lot of German food does indeed taste good, but that still looks weird. Maybe it's the lack of essential hardware?
Link Posted: 6/18/2003 7:59:24 PM EDT
I'd eat that and seconds.

There's a restaurant in San Francisco called Suppekuchen that serves German food like that. That place kicks ass, if you're ever there, look it up.

I am so jealous! I am single and lucky I can boil water somedays. I miss german food. My dad was stationed in germany when I was in school. One question though, how do you keep the pounds off? Or don't you?

YYeeeah, I love German Food! Very Hearty indeed! Gimmie 5 pieces of Viener Schnitzel with lemon, a side of cabbage, german potato salad, A HEEEAPING helping of Spatzen smothered in gravy and a TALL STEIN!
Link Posted: 6/19/2003 3:10:22 AM EDT
Looking at that pic brings back a lot of great memories of growing up in Germany. My wife's family are also German (dad, from Dresden, mother from Heidelberg region) and she can cook that stuff too. (Being raised in Scotland, she can also make haggis, too, which is great stuff!) And I used to love eating all those tasty meals, BUT that was back when I weighed almost 300 lbs! Don't wanna go back- I'll soon be back under the 200 lb. mark....

Corrected grammer would be: Ich muss eine grosse Bier haben, bitte. Hell, even that isn't right. that second sentence does not make sense. I think you were aiming for: Kannst du nicht ein pausenbrot kuchen? Nur zwei jahren von Deutschklasse?.
