Is CMP the best source for .30-06 ammo?

Also, where is good place to buy M1 clips?

More than likely the CMP will be one of your few remaining sources for surplus 30-06 ammo, looks like ammoman is out of Danish.....

I have 1008 rounds of Danish heading my way, looks like I got in on the end of it....

Yes the CMP is excellent source for 30/06 ball ammo. I bought a case for my M1 Garand in January. It is a bit dinged up as it originally linked for machine gun use. I have also bought Danish surplus from
Ammoman. It is a bit more expensive, but is very good quality. It comes on M1 enbloc clips already and in bandoleers. Once you factor in that the clips are worth about a $1 each, it is a pretty good deal. The only thing I do not like about the Danish ammo is it is berdan primed and not reloadable. Good luck.

Try www.sportsmansguide.com

Got a catalog in the mail from them today (8/18) and there's some in there.

Personally, I only shoot domestic hunting loads out of my '06.

I'm glad you posted that, just saved me a decapping pin. You are correct, just checked.

CMP states on their surplus 06 ammo that it attracts a magnet, if that matters.

I just use new PMC 150gr
relatively cheap for new production, and I can be 100% sure it's not corrosive
after my "non corrosive" usgi surplus ammo caused light rusting I'm not taking any chances

The Ammunitionstore.com has Korean , PMC ,1970's ,brass case, boxer ,on M1 garand clips, 48rds for 10.95 and 192 rds in a .30 cal. ammo can for 35.95 !! That would have 24 clips with them, I have used the PMC in the past and have gotten excellent groups with it, and you can reload the brass !! LOL , Ken

AIM has Korean PS headstamped 30.06, which is M2 ball specs, non corrosive, in the can.

The stuff on enblocs is KA stamped, and mildly corrosive, BTW.

KA is not MILDLY corrosive, it is VERY CORRSIVE. I popped a primer and a nail and the rust pretty much ate the nail up it was so bad. Clean well. That being said, I use it in my 1917 and use the clips for my M1.

What he said except I also use it in my Garands and clean approriately as did every GI in WWII and Korea, when they could, anyway. The KA stamped Korean is a real value, AFAIC.

Be careful with the Korean 30-06.

There was a thread several months ago started by a member whose own M-1 and his brother’s M-1 were both damaged with it (apparently it was supplied during a competition shoot).
