I really liked the show in the beginning, but since season 3 it's been going downhill fast for me. Seasons 4-7 have gotten progressively worse.

At want point did you start to go .

It hit the floor with that season where they spent the entire time in Ireland looking for his kidnapped son.

Got better afterwards because I think the writers got the message, but it really got as good as the first season again.

The series jumped the shark a long time ago...but I still like it.

Jax's white sneakers always seemed silly for a biker...but Tig banging a tranny took the cake.

Whatever, it's Harley Hamlet, so what can you expect.

Mehh, it's been downhill since season 3 but I've got too
much time into it now to just bail on it.  Jimmy Smits plays
an interesting character and I didn't even recognize Courtney
Love as the bitchy Nursery School teacher.

The guys in IRA land season.  It tried to be the bikers version of the Sopranos, but it just got to unrealistic.

The show started out with a lot of fresh idea capital, when that ran out they started going for shock value.

I wouldn't say it sucks, it makes me want to watch to see how it ends. I just don't think they had this many seasons worth of ideas.

I am only still watching to see how it ends for Gemma, she deserves to meet Mr. Mayhem but might just get away with it.

Yup.  Ireland I stopped paying attention.

I read the day-after review just to see if Gemma has gotten shot in the face yet.

It really is to busy and hard to follow with all the gang killings.  The Sopranos did much better at keeping it real, even at the end of the series it was believable not so much with SOA since the 1st or 2nd season.

Season1 Episode 1.

Never understood the fascination of glorifying an outlaw biker gang. And yes I did watch the first two seasons. Borrowed the dvds from a coworker who raved about the show.

Got boring in 3 with the kidnapping stuff.    Some of the story lines got in the later seasons.

Season 2 is probably my favorite.

I think the only reason anybody watches is to see Gemma die. Which means she will probably survive.

if she does I know I wont ever watch anything Sutter is involved with again, most people i know who watch it have said the same thing......Everyone is just watching at this point to see how utterly horribly Gemma croaks it

When I heard that the show's creator was a huge anti-gunner that was trying show how evil guns were with the school shooting episode. I haven't watched it since.

I watched a few episodes of it recently. It reaffirms my belief that certain criminal elements need to be treated as enemy combatants and taken out by the military

I think it was like..... 9:00 PM or something. It was a long time ago. I was watching tv and this new show came on. It had motorcycles, and guns. There was bad drama and an anti-gun bias......

Yeah.......

Here's the thing:
As far as I know, it's the first show about an MC. The unique set up and colorful characters made it a sure fire success.

At times, the writing has been great. Most of which, coincidentally, seems to surround the character Tig.

In my opinion, the writing has been far to "busy" the last few seasons....overly and unnecessarily complicated.

Too many twists, too many levels, too many secrets.

It's one of things you resort to when you feel you can't do anything else.

Regardless, I still watch the show....looking for those little gems. Like Tig's scene with his new girlfriend/boyfriend. THAT was good writing and spectacular acting.

Yup, this it is. Days of our lives for dude who don't want to say they watch soap operas.

"They toooooook my baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaby!" "Hey I know a guy who can get us a C17 to Ireland..."

Show is dumb and I feel dumb for having watched it.

Season 1, Episode 4 or 5....that's as far as I could make it.  I've said this before, but it's nothing more than Sex and the City with guns and motorcycles.

This show has never had that great of a story, but benefited from having a top knotch cast. Opie, Tara and Piney were some of the show's stronger actors and they're all gone. Ron Perlman owned any big scene he was in, they would have been better off keeping him around until the finale for a big confrontation. Now that they've gone and purged off their best actors it's just begging to end.

To be fair, The Sopranos started to go downhill when Tony's mom died. They last season was a chore to get through.
