I posted this elsewhere...

I've had this random tune stuck in my head, for months..

I heard it the first time as I was trying on a pair of camo pants, with ribbons at the ankles....I was dancing to it in the dressing room

It seemed that I heard it every time I went out shopping. It WAS my dressing room dance tune!

But I never heard it anywhere else really.  Its not the sort of song that is played on the stations I listen to.

ANYWAY...

I was out tonight, and this stupid, stuck in my head song came on the loop tape thing...SO...I walked up to the bartender and asked.."What is this song, and who does it?" He DID have to consult the buss boys...but he gave me the answer.

I've downloaded the thing to my Itunes, and have been dancing to it all night.

Ever have a tune just stuck in your head?

It's funny how I find myself
In love with you
If I could buy my reasoning
I'd pay to lose
One half won't do

I've asked myself
How much do you
Commit yourself?

It's my life
Don't you forget
It's my life
It never ends (It never ends...)

Funny how I blind myself
I never knew
If I was sometimes played upon
Afraid to lose

Oh, I'd tell myself
What good do you do
Convince myself

Oh, It's my life
Don't you forget
Oh, It's my life
It never ends (It never ends...)

And I've asked myself
How much do you
Commit yourself?

It's my life
Don't you forget
Caught in the crowd
It never ends (its my life)

It's my life
Don't you forget
Caught in the crowd
It never ends (It never ends)

Oh, It's my life... (oh its my life)
Don't you forget... (don't you forget)
Caught in the crowd... (caught in the crowd)
It never ends (it never ends...)

Pssh... total chick song.

The female who sings it is pretty good looking though.

It IS the perfect dressing room song!

I have so danced to this, without ever knowing it

Who is the singer?

I was told "No Doubt,  Its my life" ...by the bartender.

To me? Its a dressing room, dance tune!!

There's only one sure way to get a stuck song out of your head. You must sing "America" from West Side Story:

I want to be in America,
Okay for me in America,
Everything's free in America...

This ones been in my head since I was a kid, my old man used to play it a lot especially after he came back frm Vietnam.  Jay and the Americans.

Here we go:

(Boyce / Hart/ Farrell )

In a little café just the other side of the border
She was just sitting there givin' me looks that made my mouth water
So I started walking her way
She belonged to that man, José
And I knew, yes I knew I should leave
When I heard her say, yeah

Come a little bit closer
You're my kind of man
So big and so strong
Come a little bit closer
I'm all alone
And the night is so long

So we started to dance
In my arms, she felt so inviting
That I just couldn't resist
Just one little kiss so exciting
Then I heard the guitar player say
"Vamoose, José's on his way"
Then I knew, yes I knew I should run
But then I heard her say, yeah

Come a little bit closer
You're my kind of man
So big and so strong
Come a little bit closer
I'm all alone
And the night is so long

------ instrumental break ------

Then the music stopped
When I looked the café was empty
Then I heard José say
"Man you know you're in trouble plenty"
So I dropped my drink from my hand
And through the window I ran
And as I rode away
I could hear her say to José, yeah

Come a little bit closer
You're my kind of man
So big and so strong
Come a little bit closer
I'm all alone
And the night is so long

La la-la-la la-la
La la-la-la la-la
Ho ho la-la
La la la-la

No offense, but you, the DJ, AND the busboy must all be young Gwen Stefani's song is a remake of the original by Talk Talk, IIRC it came out in '85 or '86.

It is an infectious tune. I have had that one stuck in my head before. My method for removing songs that are stuck in my head is to listen to them over and over, ad naseum.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but....anyone know if the MUSLIM RAVE video has already been posted on ar15.com yet?  I'm sure it has, search function is telling me it hasn't, but I'm not sure I really trust the search function.
