They removed the Condederate Battle flag off the SC State house dome and made it into a memorial on the grounds. which I agreed with because IMO the only flags a State should be flying over their dome is the United States Flag and their State Flag.
America is rich with history and I think there should be some historical monuments/memorials of the events especially in the area in which said events happened. And the SC State House got blown to hell by cannon balls during the Civil War so it's one of those places. There are monuments all over town of where things happened which is pretty cool photograph and read about. So now they took the battle flag memorial away and put it in the State Museum which most people are fine with. But the question is.... where does it stop? Next 'someone' is also going to want to take it out it of the museum. Then from History books........ then what? Make the Civil War illegal to 'speak' about? |

1. The city has not removed the statute yet. 2. The city has asked the statue's owners to remove it, but they have not done so. 3. The statue is on city-owned property. 4. The city plans to store the statute for the owners if the owners do not remove it. |

I think we need to be consistent with removing all the memorials. If antifa wants all slavery, oppression, exploitative, and supremacist related memorials removed, here are some suggestions:
All things Native American, as native Americans often practiced slavery. Remove all Martin Luther King memorials as he was against homosexuals. (intolerance) Remove all Marxist, Leninist, Soviet, and Nazi memorials. Soviet and Nazi governments killed millions. Marx and Lenin were revolutionaries whose actions encouraged the murder of innocent people in order to overthrow the governments of their countries. Remove all black memorials as many black Americans practiced slavery during the years before slavery was outlawed. I don't actually expect this to go anywhere, I post it merely to point out how ridiculous many of the Antifa demands have become. |

I have to admit, their team is good at what they do. I wouldn't know where to begin to have a statue removed; phone call, signed petition...and to whom?
They organize assholes at rallies in a matter of days and don't seem to fear missing work or going to jail, (nothing to loose). I, on the other hand, cannot miss work, would not attend rallies, would not throw eggs at young ladies at Trump rallies, and wouldn't know where to start as far as complaining about statues, (or applying for welfare). Pains in the ass, but definitely not amateur adversaries. |

Good. Let's see if John Q. Public agrees the next time there is an election. I suspect this angering a lot more people then the number who claim to be upset by statues.
Imagine for a moment you are some guy who has no interest in politics and you hear that instead of fixing the potholes on your street or dealing with the other stuff that actually impacts you, your mayor is more concerned about a statue that has been there for decades with most not even noticing. Money to take down a statue but not for your kid's school. |
