Summa cum laude.  Paid as he went, no debt. Bach in chem, masters in solvents and adhesives. Working full time while he got his masters, just had a fly in interview with another company OOS.

Sir, you must be mistaken. Arfcom assures me only losers get degrees, much less graduate degrees, and that they all were too busy learning a useful trade and building a business to bother with all that nonsense.

DOW has been laying off in Michigan for years, he had an interview with a large company with a "D" as the first letter by Pittsburg. He's already a chemist at a coating and adhesive company in MI but he doesn't think they will up his pay now that he hashis masters so it's time to look elsewhere. [and he's likely right about that, companies would rather lose known employees and hire others at a higher pay then pay someone already there.

Good for him!  My close friend did the same thing.  It really can be done!!  My other friend, loaded down with student loans, failed out 3 years later and has a ton of debt and a crap job.  Your son is going places with that work ethic!

Yep, good for him, sounds like he is setting himself up for a good future.

I would tell him to keep Dow in his back pocket, I frequently work in employees homes from the lowest cleaning guy to the board of directors.....they all have good things to say about the company. While they are some lay offs it's far from going anywhere especially with someone like an education like your son

I'll let him know to do some checking into them. He's spent the last several years as a chemist and mixing, creating, and testing coating and adhesives so he has a few years of lab work under his belt on the production testing side and the designing side.
