I will go with just kicking router, maybe that should help. I have been get some of those rejects yesterday. Today its the ad server, ugh!

Running traceroutes (actually mtr) I believe there is a problem with a large part of the alter.net backbone today. If you happen to route through their backbone you may find many sites very slow.
