From watching AFN (Armed Forces Network) I have learned the following things:

The DOD now allows non chargeable leave for same sex couples who need to travel to another State to get married.

The Army now has a new uniform, the ACU-A, which is designed for women.  Anyone can wear it though, they were very clear about that.

I've been out of the Army for about 2 years, all I have to say is WTF is going on?  I was around for the repeal of don't ask don't tell, but I did't think the appeasement go this far.

You saw commercial's?

FML, I'm glad I never got to see that crap when I was in. In Germany you got stuck with that, or it was cable on the economy and man alive, you haven't lived until you've seen a Friends rerun with a German speaking Joey; simply "awesome." But BBC wasn't so bad...

wait...wat?

AFN for sports only.  Internet + VPN + Netflix + HBOGO + Amazon = WIN!

"...and that's life, in These United States."

Ahhh, I remember those. And listening to AFN radio in the hangar when I was stationed in Germany.

IIRC, that "Bodie" character was pretty common in radio commercials.

I only watched it while I was overseas and happened to be on a US post that received it.
I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it now if it happened to be on a TV I was near.....

Don't shake the baby!

I never hooked the TV up at home, so I only see it at work.

I remember Doc Foglesong flying in on old triple 7. He appeared every commercial break it seemed.

And some really pretty marine staff sergeant as news anchor.

I know all about the 5% (thanks, dancing fruit), how I should Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, and the dangers of lawn mowers, all from watching AFN.
