BTW, I totally agree with McUzi.
I can't hardly believe these cats in this room could ever take up arms in a SHTF situation. People who have the balls to do something like that don't cry to the mods over harsh language and soft pornography. |

McUZI the rules are simple and straight forward. While I tend to not mind the vulgarities and obscenities, many of the members and moderators due. The simple fact I have come to realize, which maybe they have not, is that there is [b]NO WAY[/b] to moderate language.
What does tend to need moderating is the anger, aggression, and posting of porn or otherwise unwanted items. These people preach about Freedoms, but within even our Laws there is a thing as Common Decency which dictates that the masses make the laws what they are concerning sexual acts, foul language, and so on. There have been many a court case involving this, but they all tend to turn out the same. The masses dictate the rules which everyone must abide per community. As for this community, it is not public to begin with, but as you guys can already tell, when the masses don't want to put up with something they find offensive, they will seek the powers that be for justice. I think this is within their rights, just as I feel that if your account is suspended for something so marginal as posting a picture of a naked woman, then so be it. Not all posts will be caught, not all people will be banned, as in life there are those who tend to get caught and those who tend to escape... nobody said life was fair. I whole heartedly agree that this is a GENERAL DISCUSSION FORUM and is the right place to discuss politics, firearms, religion (this one may be touchy to people), news events, movies, and whatever else floats your boat, BUT the simple fact is that some items will NOT be acceptable. -- GB Nice poem by the way... |

The point I was making is that some of these Jennies are too damn gutless to deal with the problem head-on- AKA- Complaint E-mails you recieve about me- instead of said member dealing with "McUZI" on the boards. It is lame. Sure, there has to be an "end-all" power, and on AR15.com, it is the Admin. That is fine. The point I am making is that the Admin ought to be called out O_N_L_Y in serious (Well, as [red]serious[/red] as you can be about -words on a screen-)cases of "e-abuse"- Child Porn, altering a screen name in order to debase a member, blah blah blah. Busting out the "Admin" status because """Ohhhhhhhhhhh. So-and-so keeps using the word "fuck""" shows that some of these folks can be a bunch of weenies. It's not just the extremes which affend people. In fact those extremes (such as child porn) will get you into a lot more trouble than a simple banning from me. I think people need to be able to deal with issues, I see Ed Sr posting all the time to please make porn pictures URLs. I think this is a very simple way to please everyone. He is NOT banning you because of the pics, he is giving you a fair chance to change your post. And I dont ban people for simple things. I ban people for being serious "assholes" on the site. I dont tolerate racism and I dont tolerate people I have to hear 20-30 emails about. (I'm sorry, but if I get 1-2 emails I look into something, if I get 10+ I usually will usually side with those people even if it is something marginal. Although, not always...) -- GB |

The hard part with that is there are only a few people on here with guns... the rest have the power to yell "STOP", much like the Canadian Police, which doesn't help much with true trouble makers.

If we look at the big picture, out beyond your trees, your pizza, your paycheck, ect..., it all boils down to the company we keep. Believe it or not, you are judged by others mainly on that criteria. Might not seem fair, but when you hang with lowlifes, the lifestyle rubs off on you. It's inevitable. If we seriously seek to promote our [b]main[/b] interest that we share, then there needs to be a line. Once crossed, it must be enforced.
Does looking a naked pics make a lowlife? Naa. But anyone posting pictures, that are sick by any standard, on a shooting board, with a purpose of detraction, not contribution, is not someone I would want to shoot with. |

This goes to show everybody, once again, that McUzi can't possibly create a thread that has less than 1,000 people responding to the damn thing.
While I find that admirable, I also have to agree with some of the ideas brought forth as well. As far as "pornography on a gun board" goes, I am really too apathetic to care who posts pictures of girls with AR15's in one hand and their groin in the other. I enjoy looking at some of the pictures, sure. Does it make me sick? Nah. Do I think porn should be on a gun board? Not really, but I'm not doing anything about it b/c I really don't care - that's why I'm not a moderator [:D] As far as taking people seriously, sometimes I have to to get an idea of how much I want to weight what people tell me (as far as advice goes) against what kind of person they are. Everyone can agree that Imbrog|io, as a perfect example, is a slightly "different" individual - but he seems to also knows what he's talking about (for someone who only owns a .38 and 10/22, yeah right). There's a time for joking, and a time for discussion. As far as my purpose here, the primary reason is to learn more about my weapon every day. Although, I do have to say I enjoy gettin on the forums after work, poppin' open a brew, and snicker at all the people giving each other hell - it's quite humorous really. If it were not for porn, talking trash and McUzi
(who,seems to make up about 25% of the talk on the board) we wouldn't have any thing to talk about. I think a lot of people here are looking for a guy to fall in love with -- get off the McUzi crap, he's one person not a whole society and I'd trade talk about him in a microsecond for some good AR15 info. Ar15's are rifles, not guns and not McUzi and not cutting up others. |
