maybe a stupid question, but how do you get it to hold the guns in your right hand. Whenever I play they're in the left. Just started playing CS, I had been playing TFC for over a year, but CS blows it away

You can choose it in the menu, same where you choose the keys. There are scripts available which enable´s you to change your weapon to the other in game, for cornering.

CS is old hat... the half-life engine is craptastic and there are more cheats for the game than there are for all other games combined! You can use auto-aim, no-reload, no-recoil, no-damage cheats and rock n roll all day... THAT is why I have moved on.
I HIGHLY suggest checking out Quake3 - Urban Terror [url]http://www.urbanterror.net[/url] which is basically CS for Quake3. There are a bunch of game types such as capture the flag (ala TFC), capture and hold (very fun!), Free-for-all, team deathmatch (TFC style respawning), team survivor (CS Style die and wait for round to end), and a few others. The graphics are incredible, the sounds and animations are wild, the maps are very kewl, and the playability is on par if not BETTER than CS. (You have a stamina meter so bunny jumping is pretty much eliminated. Jumping is easy to track as its at a more normal speed and after a few jumps you tire out.) I've gotten about 5 people ADDICTED to this game. (All counterstrikers!!!) So I shit you not when I say this game is worth checking out. ]=) -- GB |

CS Condition Zero is the not-yet-released single player game of counterstrike. You can play single player counterstrike missions today - You have to download one of the popular 'bots (which are addons not included in the counter-strike release).
The popular ones are NNBot, PodBot and HPBot. The 'bots are computer controlled opponents or allies. |

Download Punkbuster from [url]www.punkbuster.com[/url]. Run it before running CS. Join a server that requires Punkbuster, and leave the cheaters behind. And yes, unlimited jumping is the only major problem remaining with CS. Hopefully they'll add a stamina meter like the one Day of Defeat has. (If you've never played DoD, imagine CS in a WW2 environment. Very cool. Garands, Thompsons, Springfields, etc. vs Mausers and SturmGewers (sp), etc.) Oh, I remember having trouble getting my weapons to appear right-handed. Even if you selected right-handed, they'd be left. Somehow it just started working. Not sure what I did to fix it. (Damn, Tuukka, 4 kills with 1 grenade? I've never even seen that before. [:)] |

DOD is my game! I will be playing it in just a minute.. I have a week off because of surgery.. I think I'll get to play some.
I quite playin CS because the cheating was getting really gay. What handles do you guys go by? Im pokinsmot ;)-~ |

Again, why I love Urban Terror! Punkbuster was great at first, but the problem is after a punkbuster update, there are cheat updates within an hour which bypass it. Not to mention the extra LAG PB adds to the game, especially during matches. Shit, we had one match where a guy had a hack that turned off PB after authenticating and turned cheats on, then he would reverse it at the end of rounds so that it wouldn't kick him from the match. This was all VERIFIED by the developers of PB who we worked with to get it fixed... I'll stick with my kick ass Urban Terror and the nice engine upgrade from Q2 Engine (HalfLife) to the Q3 Engine. DoD is kewl as hell, but again the HL engine has many holes in it, not just CS... too bad too, lots of good mods for it, but as I've learned the Q3 community does not like to be outdone! -- GB |

Just bought Operation Flashpoint last week, the game rulez.
Heli insertions, PBR boats, M113's, M60 tanks, M1A1 Abrams and your assortment of infantry personel. On commie side, Hind and Hip heli's, T55, T72 and T80 tanks, BMP's landing craft etc etc. A great graphical engine and best of all multiplayer. So a ground unit can call in airsupport, tanksupport etc etc etc. Released in Europe, US release september 22th which will contain dedicated server support and patches. Something us folks in Europe can download for free if the program is registered. |

I was pretty good in Counter Strike until the POS stopped working on me one day. I havent seen anyone who can beat me in rogue spear, but I havent played it in about a month because the ISP that I used to use to play video games went all shitty so I stopped using it.

Here's the links for two Firearms(halflife mod) screen shots taken recently while we were playing around in a game.
You can jump on top of other players and stand on them so we all carefully jumped on top of one another and built a totem pole. Then we layed a claymore at the base of the totem pole and blew it to hell just as a screen shot was taken. God, there isn't a game I haven't played that isn't a first person shooter. After 2-3 years the Firearms mod for Halflife is the one I'm still playing cause I find it the most fun even though it's got a few glitches you've got to get over. Played Rogue Spear for ages and got sick of the idea of some of the limits within the game with limited game play. Played Delta Force 2 and Landwarrior for quite awhile, I still like the DF series but the damned games just LAG LIKE HELL even though I've got a cable modem and a fast computer it still manages to clown my system and I got totally fed up with trying to bother with it, and it's a shame too because I was a decent map maker and really liked hosting games when the latency permitted good games. Played CounterStrike for awhile until I found that it's game play gets VERY repetitive VERY fast and the cheats in the game are just unbearable. Don't know if I'll buy Operation FlashPoint or not, the demo throughly annoyed me at times and really impressed me at other times. Right now I'd have to say my favorite games are DeltaForce 2(even with it's graphics from hell), Delta Force LandWarrior even if I don't play it much any more, Firearms mod for Halflife, and Tribes 2 even though I get my ass throughly kicked in it and I only bought it in the hopes that a kick ass mod will be made for it some day. I still chuckle at the memories of using my claymores in DF2 and DFLW to make MASSIVE mine fields for the other players to run through and kill themselves, in DF2 I'd always hide TONS of them in the deep grass as if they were eastereggs and in LW I'd saturate the buildings and often times in both games I'd chaulk up 2-3 kills when an entire mine field went at once. I have real hopes for games like Serious Sam where it very likely will gain huge favor with mod makers and I also have high hopes for a few other games out there. FPS games I've collected over the years. Rainbow 6, Rainbow 6 Eagle Watch Rainbow 6 Rogue Spear, Rainbow 6 Urban Ops Delta Force 1, Delta Force 2, Delta Force LW Unreal Tournament Soldier Of Fortune Halflife, CounterStrike, Firearms, Action HL Tribes 2 Thing with most of these games is they are all great, if you're playing with good people. Problem with online games is that it's hard finding good people to play with, not skill wise but just fun people to play with and under good conditions. |

Thanks. After I made my post I did some checking. I missed the other page of options. Funny thing is, left handed weapons wasn't checked. I had to check it, play, then uncheck it, then I got right handed weapons. I'm glad the game works now though, I downloaded it a few months ago and it wouldn't play, but I got it working with the first release that started being sold, although I downloaded it since I already had bought HL

I never use the cd to play HL, or CS, or TFC. Op-Force seems to be the only one that needs the cd for me.

The coolest looking game I've seen in a while is the upcomming [i]Returen to Castle Wolfenstein[/i]. It uses the Quake III engine and looks awesome.

I HIGHLY suggest checking out Quake3 - Urban Terror The UT website shows the game as only being available in a beta version. Is it really bug-free enough to be playable? BTW, couldn't they have come up with a different name? The letters "UT" are already associated with another first person shooter game. |
