perm. attach enough rail to a 10" barrel to make it legal

then have a snap in rail system to go behind it

Have SBR length with your suppressor but only 1 tax stamp , and no paper work to go across state lines

Like this

If I just posted a million dollar idea here for some site sponsor

all I ask is remember me and give me a fee one

SBX for reference

Already done.  I designed it and a company called BMS sells it.

The handguard isn't permanently attached but a shroud is permanently attached to make it 16".

I don't want to post links and shit because that would be advertising...

So, basically, you want me to  permanently attach a handguard extension instead of a stepped-down shroud... and attach a QD flash hider beforehand?  The rear section of the handguard will have to be 2-piece, like you illustrated.

May I ask... why?  Is it an aesthetic thing?

Any reason you couldn't just pin and weld an appropriate length handguard to the upper receiver?

If that satisfied ATF requirements I don't see why not

Now you just need to find a handguard around 16" with a large enough inner diameter to fit a can.

Or you could have a 1-off custom piece made.  That's 'spensive.

Trust me, I'm not poopooing your idea.  I have crazy ideas all the time that don't make sense to anyone else.  I'm just pointing out some of the issues involved with manufacturing such a thing.

yeah looks like all the really long stuff is more key mode type stuff with smaller ODs than say a YHM handguard
