Exclusive: Few Rogue Border Agents Resist Trump Policies

Some border patrol stations have been slow to carry out President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement executive order and instead have continued former President Barack Obama’s “catch-and-release” policies, according to a union official.
...
Vaughan, a former U.S. Foreign Service officer, said it often takes time for new policies to be fully embraced. This especially is true during the transition from one administration to the next, she said, because the outgoing administration often has promoted managers who agree with its policy goals.
...
“It’s not unusual for people who are in disagreement with change to dig in their heels and take a stand,” she said. “I certainly saw that at the State Department where implementation of law and policies could differ based on the views of different managers and different posts.”

There is likely someone who can use a pay raise that is willing to do the job they signed up for.

The "Everyone hired under Obama should be fired" line is absolutely asinine.  Should every beat cop hired in the last 8 years be fired?  Every serviceman who enlisted or officer commissioned be sent packing?  There are some positions (mainly appointees who should be sent packing) but suggesting that CBP officers should be fired merely because they have less than 8 years on is just plain stupid.

Absolutely, if they aren't willing to follow the (lawful) rules there are many others who will.

If you can't observe the President's orders then you can observe the back of the unemployment line.

Fired, and fired immediately.  This dancing around the "it takes time to transition..." stuff is horseshit.  The order is clear, as is the BP's charter.  It doesn't take any time to "transition" - it just takes supervisors willing to do their job.

One would think that, in the case of CBP, they'd be happy to start enforcing the law rather than going through essentially the same effort and then letting them go.

I'm one who says the "fire all of of Obama's people".

See in the article, "because the outgoing administration often has promoted managers who agree with its policy goals. "

Those people promoted to the managers because they agree with policy goals and currently run shit are the people we're talking about.

Yes.  Bring in the people in question. Fire the highest ranking guy, regardless of how he feels because he let the insubordination go on in the first place. Tell number 2 he is in charge now and does he have any issue following directions and obeying them.

If he responds correctly, then have him point out the guys unwilling to carry out orders, and fire them on the spot as well.

The ones doing the releasing obviously aren't holding the job because a deep-seated desire to protect the country from foreign invaders.  They're doing to in an attempt to continue FBHO's policies and continue his legacy.  The fact that we're still signing paychecks for those who refuse to perform their assigned duties and deliberately ignore a direct order from the President of the United States seriously pisses me off.

From the article.
Judd said some managers have been waiting for specific written guidelines to filter down from the Department of Homeland Security. He said he considers that unnecessary since the president’s executive order is crystal clear.

I am friends with BP guys and they welcome the change, but what exactly is the change. Some confusion gov wide on what the new marching orders are, so until then you continue with the old marching orders.

My hope is that the Trump Admin starts to fill these info gaps, if not the old guard will.

EDIT:  I do believe the MSN and old guard are purposefully keeping the rank and file confused.
