So who here owns the FN 57?

How do you like it?

Do you use it for you CCW?

I don't but I would love to get my hands on one and a P90.

Even if it were just for a day at the range.

I prefer a gun that uses a round that has better ballistics than a 22wmr.

The ballistics charts it show it out preforming the 9mm.

The P90 infomercial says the same thing

Woohoo, good for it

57 round costs more
57 pistol costs more
magazines cost more
gun is too big
list goes on and on

and, the best part is:  You can't buy any ammo but the training ammo...........I'll stick with 9mm....cheap to shoot, and I get 18 in my g17......I think I can mulligan the other 2 rounds.

True, I only wanna shoot one to see what the 5.7x28mm round it all about.

I'll stick with .45ACP for carry purposes.

Anybody?  I know a large amount of ARFCOMMERS bought them right after the ban scare.

accurate
minor recoil
fun to shoot
anti's don't want me to have it
but
ammo availabiliy is a pita for now

Lightweight, accurate, high cap.  2200 fps bullets.

Every documented shooting with  a 5.7 is 1 stop shot.

Approved for use by the US Secret Service after their testing to see how well it performs.

People just don't like new guns.

Hey gun snobs, remember:

5.56 bounces off trees

M-16/AR-15s are jam-o-matics

As for ammo, I bought several 2200 rounds cases before the hype.  I'm good until the new ammo comes in.

The benefits outweight the shortcomings though!

That is true, against body armor, with the original ammo.  However, since the only ammo available now is a Nosler Ballistic Tip variant, it is pretty useless.

Yeah I have one.

Hasn't replaced my SIG as my primary carry yet.

I have a PS90 on order...

Saw my first used 5.7 pistol in a gun case at GT's this week.  They STILL want 690$ for the damn thing.

As for these "confirmed one shot stops" for this caliber,  I'd like to see the proof of that.   To this date the only confirmed shootings I'm aware of are multiple hits from a P90.

I'd still like the see the round in a minature Mauser action, it'd make a great jackrabbit rifle.

That's a good idea for alot of reasons I can think of. Makes me wonder if there are chamber reamers out for the 5.7 mm yet?

I've had mine since December, and finally went to shoot it this past Saturday. Reports like a small rifle, kicks like nothing. If the ammo wasn't so expensive, I'd shoot it every time out at the range.

I've wanted one since it was released and a PS90 to go with it (especially now since I get a SBR up here ).

I'm going to hold off until we get some more players on the ammo side of things.  Too damned expensive to feed the beasts right now.

I kinda want one but until the price of the ammo comes down I cant afford to shoot it so no point in me buying one now.

Doesn't the SS195LF ammo use the same bullet as the SS192 "training" ammo?  If it does, isn't also AP?

I have one. On the possitive side, no recoil at all and is very light weight. On the negative side, lots of muzzle flash, very loud, and expensive to shoot.

I definately wouldn't want to use it as a home defense gun. If shot indoors without sun glasses and hearing protection you would go deaf and blind after the first shot.hat

Sure way to play into the antis propagnda. Least your screen name is accurate. Bad guys would never have the brains to pick up some body armor, so there is no need.... NEED has nothing to do with your rights!

BTW I saw one at my local shop for around 400 or so a few months back. I'll pick on up once ammo is cheaper/more available.

I had one and 2000 rounds of SS192 ammo.

I bought the ammo when it first came out around $18 a box.

I sold the gun and ammo and made $600.

The biggest reason I sold it was ammo price and availablility.

Do you think it will print? Storing extra mags might be a problem
Luckily, open carry is legal in MI. (The PS90 is considered a pistol in MI).

SS195LF is the same as SS192. SS192 is NOT an armor piercing ammo, Sarah Brady just has her panties in a bunch because it can go through level II armor sometimes. FN voluntarily removed SS192 from stock for civilians, but brought back the SS195LF, same thing but with a lead-free primer.
