I know some people who Alligator hunt in La. and I know the population is better there.

Where did they go when Katrina hit? And do you think they are working clean up detials right now?

I would not think there are many, if any gators in the metro area.

They're in the sewers man!

Actually, they have been spotted in the 9th Ward chewing on dead bodies. Not a huge number of them, but they are there, and so are the snakes.

I wonder if PETA will get involved to try to help the poor displaced alligators.

Most of the coon asses are probably shooting every gator they see in NO anyhow. They do taste pretty good you know.

They were in the streets, I was watching one of the news channels and they showed em swimming and sunning on residential streets. They scare the shit out of me when I'm duck huntin I especially don't want em in my front yard. But they really are neat reptiles, I enjoy watching them down here out in the wild, but only at a distance and from a boat. I have only come across a few while huntin, luckily never got too close, and I felt like I needed to check my waders.

That what I would really be worried about, coming across and pissing off a moccasin. Alligators you can see easily(most of the time). Moccasin can hide easier, and they are wicked fast in the water.

Spoke with my brother last night who's a medic for the La. Guard residing at the superdome, said that one of his team members saw a bull shark swim by when they were trying to effect a rescue. I thought WTF? This is the making of a nightmare.

All that pollution that's in the water around NO the gators have better sense than to hang around.

+1

Got a call this morning from a friend who lives in N.O., he's now over in Houston. Said a shark was outside his house, right in front of his porch. They came when the Ponchatrain overflowed. The bull sharks live and breed in that lake cause it's brackish water.

+1 again on the nightmare.

Just think of how many sharks and gators and fish will be stranded as the Corps of Engineers pumps out the city.

Should be interesting when the gators and sharks start fighting each other.

Gators are pretty hearty and likely the pollution in the water is their last concern. Do you think they give a Fuck that they are eating some days old rotting corpse of some animal?
ETH is correct....they are common and I'm just wondering when one will make some waves.
(Too bad that pic with PunkAss Sean Punk Pinhead isn't real)

The alligators are probably doing the body recovery teams a favor.
