I know what I believe about our country, & why. I'm not the smartest, or dumbest man around, but I'm doing ok, & I like who I am, & I like who you all are pretty much.

My qustion is this. Are democraps just stupid, & misguided people with a fools form of intalect? & folks like us are basiclly smarter, because we, if nothing else have life, liberty, & the persuit of happyness figured out?

If so, then Ralph Nader has done more damadge to America than anyone else, by finding ways to keep stupid people alive, & their genes remaing when they should have died off by way of self elimination.

I guess I'm tired of the stupid people, in my opinion, causing so much grief, for the rest of us.

I was thinking about this at lunch today.

I asked it this way - "What is it that makes a Liberal a liberal?"

I have an answer but many here won't like it.

Liberals govern by emotion, conservatives govern by logic. Just to keep it simple.

Most of them should have been spanked more as kids. Some of them should be smacked even now.

Using emotion as an excuse to avoid logic.

Out with it!  I'm way in suspense here.

People who deny the existence of a God, and the life changing effects that has on a persons life, are far more likely to embrace selfishness and Liberalism.

Mind you I'm NOT saying you gotta agree with my church, or my religion, or even with me at all.

But people who either outright or effectively ( in how they live their life) deny the existence of a Supreme Being they are accoutable to are FAR more likely to embrace Liberalism.

I study people. I study sections of the  country. Take the South. There is a LARGE percentage of people who believe in God, yet live like the devil (adultery, drinking etc) They largely  hold a Conservative world view. Unfortunately many are NOT bright enuf to figger out the Democratic Party their daddy and grandaddy voted for has LONG since abandoned them.

The real word for what we call Liberals is "progressive".  Progress of humanity, civilization.  Constantly improving and correcting injustices, imperfections, and the government as the logical tool to accomplish those improvements and reforms.  I'd be a Liberal too if I believed government was effective in solving things like poverty, or that all injustices from racism to lookism can be corrected by the government.  I would even be a socialist if I thought it actually improved more peoples' lives than it hindered or harmed.

But I'm NOT a progressive, because all the evidence I see is that the government screws up everything it touches, socialism ruins countries, and human nature is more or less immutable.

So what I do is look at what's been established as good, pragmatic, useful, beneficial from history and our institutions, and seek to keep and learn from those institutions, principles and lessons while trying to keep the government as limited as reasonably possible, so as to limit its capacity to damage an individual's ability to shape his life from well-meaning but clueless politicians and bureaucrats.

These are the fundamental political beliefs we choose from.

Some vote democrat because their family has voted that way since forever. Some vote democrat because it validates their heathen lifestyle. Some vote democrat because their socialist union tells them to. Some vote democrat because they like heard one of their friends like say some junk and it was about how like democrats are for the people and like Republicans are like for the big corporations and shit?

Damn good question.
I recently began working at a school.  It's a small school and it's still summer here so only a couple teachers and most of the staff is here from day to day.  Everyone here is sooo incredibly nice, everyone seems really smart.... but alas... they are all swinging off the scale lefties.  They have a bet ongoing on how long it will take them to convert me.  The jerks won't let me buy in... on the "FU#KING NEVER" side.  It's hard to convert them when they outnumber you 100 to 1... but I've been working on my brother and the damage UC Davis did to him is starting to heal.  He agreed the other day that he thinks George is better then the catsup bitch.

Democrats have a complete chain of members, much like a beehive.

They have the elitist at the top that truly believe they know what's best for everyone below them.

They have the media puppets that protect them from harm.

They have the working class union members who have been mesmerized into believing the democratic party looks out for them.

They have the so-called underprivileged and poor who trade their vote for what they believe is protection but it is really their enslavement.

They have a plethora of factions that have special agendas that would have no hope of progressing if it were not for them banding together under the democratic party.

And then at the bottom of the scale are the gullible and ignorant that have bought into the lies and propaganda spread by the party and their protectors.

Liberals take the first piece of information throw at them on a subject that suits their needs and take it as the truth.
They want, and need to believe it , so that the world they have created in their heads doesn't get rocked.

Everyone else draws their own conclusion based on facts they research themselves.

And not to muddy the waters, but this progressive gov't mentality goes right along with human evolutionary theory.

Since man is evolving, gov't should evolve with it, to a socialist utopia.

In reality, a social conservative who believes in evolution is a paradox. Evolution and progressive socialism go hand in hand.

My Response:

For evolution to be possible, things change. Most of the time, this is not a change for the better, and the organism does not survive. SOMETIMES, this organism does better and flourishes. Conservatives recognise that if we embrace every change, the change will most probably be  detrimental rather than beneficial. For societal evolution to be positive, it has to be throttled back by people with conservative views so that the changes will be made slowly and carefully.
