Did it ban any and all rifles capable of firing .50 ammo?  Did it exempt  muzzleloaders?  What about larger than .50?  Or did it just ban a single rifle?  Can they just re-name it.. like call it a sporterized elephant smoker?

What if it fires a .499 Firecracker or whatever wildcat can be remade from .50 shells?

This is the golden question, is there a loophole?

Yeah, and what about other .50 caliber ammo?  I know it bans .50BMG, but what about things like the .500S&W?

yeah, thats what my question is.  It sounds like it merely banned that specific gun...

So whatsto stop people from building a .50 Caliber version of their favorite single-shot semi-auto?

or like you said a .499 caliber...

From what I saw, .50BMG was banned by name.

It seemed to indicate that different 12.7mm cartridge (like the Russian one which is longer, and which ArmaLite's AR-50 is available in) might work...

There's ALWYS a loophole, when the antis are writing the laws. Dumb politicians, dumb about guns. How can that much Stupid NOT leave a loophole you could drive a container ship through? (which is EXACTLY what happened in '94, when norinco recalled some shipments, refit them with wood thumbhole stocks and shipped'em right back)
