My little sister, and her friends want to go shooting, but I'm almost out of range ammunition, and I'm low on money, I want to make it fun, but I don't want to spend a lot.  Any body know where I can get the best price some cheap .223, .45 ACP, .40 S&W, and 7.62x39 blasting ammo?

I'm sure if your sister and her friends are cute and you post pics as PER THE RULE, you'll get volunteers to help and free ammo for the event.

Bring a 12 ga with lots of bird shot and around of buck or slug.  Let her shoot the low brass a while, then load the 12ga so that the high brass is the last round.  Sit back and let the hilarity ensue.

I want her to get in to shooting, not scare her away from it.  People wonder why so few girls get in to shooting.....

Are we talking "little sister" as in 12 or "little sister" as in 19?

The direction that this thread will take depends upon your answer.

Wal-Mart has 100 round value packs of .223 for ~$40.  That's about as good as I've seen locally.

7.62x39 is going to be your best for cheap ammo.  Can you wrangle up a .22 pistol or rifle?  Cheap and it won't beat them up too much for their first outing.

haha notice the join date.  he probably thinks we're a bunch of perverts (unless if the girls are under 18, then thats gross).
so...little sisters as in 12 or 19?  i vote 22lr either way.  buy a marlin model 60 for less than the price of a case of 7.62x39.

Depending on their age, load up on .22lr.

They're called clay pigeons. Birdshot and pigeons are a lot funner and a hell of a lot cheaper then shooting rifle rounds at paper targets.

.22LR is not on the list. Except the 7.62 Soviet, the others may be found at your local wally world, at least I've never seen any in them. Wolfs under $7.00 a box around here for the Soviet at local places, maybe less. Prices seem to be coming down now. You could ask them to kick in I suppose if it's that tight.

Little Sister as in 14.  I've actually been around for awhile, my old computer melted down, and I lost my login info, and I moved so I didn't have my original E-Mail address, so I had to get a new screen name, my old screen name was Small_Arms_Collector, hence S_A_C, I've been around for a few years.

ahh i see.  thanks for the update.  oooh i also thought of something just now.  cmmg 22lr conversion bolt for an ar15.  http://palmettostatearmory.com/606.php thats the stainless one.  my parked one feels rough but functions fine.  i think rifles are best for 1st time shooters because it takes extra effort to point a rifle in an unsafe direction than a pistol and they're easier to control.

This looks like a sign I saw a guy holding in Eugene, Or today. Although he was only after money.... oh you forgot "God Bless" at the end there.
