I am applying for a home loan....and as I am going through the basic first steps, I see this little gem. I feel like the answers are total doublespeak....especially if you read them alone without the prefacing paragraph.  

"Patriot Act

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means for you: As part of applying for your mortgage loan, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver�s license or other identifying documents.

I AGREE to the Patriot Act

I DO NOT AGREE to the Patriot Act"

This could have never been accomplished without the Patriot Act. How we survived and purchased homes before 9/11 was merely an anomaly of mankind. Luckily, our loving govt has corrected this for us now.
