Well, at least they're not just going to change the subject and call a random conservative racist, in a surprising variance from JournoList protocol.

I was just flipping through canels and saw the video... and then the comment where she said that her comments were taken out of context.
I have one question for her, and CNN. In what context could those comments POSSIBLY be considered appropriate? |

The bottom line is that she said "I didn't do as much as I could to help him because he was white."
No context is required. |

Don't know as I don't watch CNN. It's on at work, I don't have a choice. And it's been playing ALL day. The think that irks me is if it was if the races were reversed, CNN would be railroading the person. |

The anecdote being touted is only half of it. Yes, she did say she didn't help the white farmer fully and took him to a white lawyer...initially...she then realized the error of her actions, went back to the farmer and helped to the best of her ability. The farmer's FAMILY are defending her. |

I think I said this yesterday but it bears repeating.
Fuck her. |

Soon, Eric Holder will announce the US Justice Department is looking into her firing for racial reasons. |

CNN can choke on a bag o' dicks for all I care. +1 Worthless left wingnut mouthpiece for the Barry Soetoro administration. |

Interesting trick bag for the Communist News Network. Defend Sherrod and go against a White House forced resigning. Maybe some day they'll wake up but I doubt it.
|
|
I guarantee you if a white official was forced to resign because of possibly racial comments, just like in this case, CNN wouldn't try half as hard as to find the back story as they are doing here.
Instead...oh noes...now she's the victim!!! Unbelievable |

Of course, that won't change anything now that the cat is out of the bag. |

We're all racist....even reading this thread is a racist act...not watching CCN might be racist...disagreeing with Barry is always racist, oh and did I mention, if you take the Constitution and Bill of Rights literally you're a racist and a right wing radical threat to America.

God forbid you're honest.
If she ended up doing the right thing and the farmer suffered no damage or in the alternative has no complaint against her than I don't see why it was necessary to fire her. We've just gone to the point of PC where it's not truth that matters its perception and image only. It's not healthy for such a diverse society as ours. |

The part of the video that Breitbart didn't show (because he didn't even have the damn thing) was where she said she went back and spent 2 years helping the farmer and realized that she was a real dumbass for not doing so in the first place. The USDA didn't give her a chance to explain herself because the USDA was too scared of the mouthbreathers Breitbart riled up. |

SilentType, I agree on principle, but the fact of the matter is that mainstream media and liberals have consistently been making bigger stinks about smaller issues. For goodness sake, the NAACP just had a half-decade old Hallmakr greeting card pulled from shelves because they thought they heard something!
The PC train is only going to get stopped when the conductors suffer it themselves. The non-left - conservatives, libertarians, republicans, basically those not aligned with the progressive agenda - have been losing the public relations battle and mismanaging media for decades, and this is no small part of it. We have let the left write these pages of our national narrative on race, fairness and discrimination. And millions of voters buy it, hook, line and sinker. We can't allow the left to maintain moral high ground on racial ambiguity. Rules for Radicals talks about holding your opponent to their own standards - you're not expected to abide, and everyone fails their own aspirations at times. Many people are swayed by this hypocritical showing of hypocrisy. By failing to appreciate and employ this tactic, we're conceding a huge sector of persuasion to the dems. We don't fight a conventional war against terror, and we can't just go on CSPAN and debate Founders' intent with the left. We adapt in order to overcome. I want to fix it too, but we have to win first. We can't fix shit when we've got Obama, two liberal chambers of Congress, and an in-the-tank media between us and the constitution. So I say keep it comin', righty pundits. |

Nbc just had a whole 15 minutes on this. The ending thought was that the usda acted too fast in making ber resign because they didnt understand what she was saying.

They are the ones that started this shit by making the claims of racism based on absofuckinglutly nothing!! Remember the photoshopped black guy carrying the gun? Remember the false claims of racism during the health care vote?
Nobody cares if it's taking out of context if a "right wing tea party activist" says anything. Hell, you don't have to say anything at all, it's the new mcarthyism. boo fucking hoo. I seriously doubt the explaination anyway, it doesn't really go along with the naacp's agenda. |

Beck defended her, a bit. Because until his show, it was all taken out of context.

The ENTIRE point of the video was lost.
When just this March, she told her little heart warming story of a racist past -the NAACP audience laughed. It was the nasty laughter of: "serves him right, mmmm hmmm..." In the wake of the NAACP denunciation of the Tea Party, THIS proof of hypocrisy should have been the focus. Instead Fox, et al focused on her. That's dumb. |

I say let them. Its a win win situation. Either the lady is racist and she was telling a CSB to all her racist friends at the NAACP which looks stupid because they just condemned the TEA Party as racist, OR she was telling her highly embellished racist CSB to a bunch of racist friends at the NAACP (since the white farmer's wife says this lady help save their farm) and the Obomination Administration is tossing her under the bus for the whole world to see how crooked they are.

There's another thread posted stating that this whole situation kinda smells. The facts: *Libs and NAACP participate in gross use of the race card *"Racism" is cried far too often and without merit. Even the libs are perhaps sick of it-they note that members of their own ranks grow tired of possibly being termed racists. *Conservatives and moderates are becoming more and more vocal about the flagrant and unsubstantiated use of the race card/racism label *Story leaked by conservative site that "ZOMG USDA black woman makes racist comments––burn her" *Quickly released that video is only the first HALF of the speech. That, in reality, it was an anecdote about the speaker changing her ways towards whites. *Sherrod goes on CNN and states "USDA fired me because Glenn Beck was gonna have it on his show" = Libs can now point fingers at the conservatives as "too quick" to yell "racism". Anderson Cooper/Maddow/et al will have hour-long segments on how in fact Sherrod was fired by racists. That conservatives are the ones too quick to point out racism. |

Please forgive, but at this point in my life - after always being on the side taking the high road and getting it's ass kicked - whatever injustice may lie in her job loss absolutely evades me.
Wish I was a better person - guess I'm getting worse. I'm good with it. |

It isn't that she noticed the error of her ways..............
the error itself is so unacceptable that she should have been fired on the spot by her boss. It is not as if she miss-filed paperwork. She deliberately acted in a racist way. If she was white, and did that to a black person, she would have been jailed as well. |

Yes, he did. Breitbart could have edited that video to show the entire story - that Sherrod isn't some asshole hell bent on enslaving whitey, but focusing on the crowd's reaction, as you noted. But he didn't. Breitbart tried to be too clever by half. He's a second-rate 'journalist' who used just enough rope to hang himself with. The title of this thread is all you need to know to tell that Breitbart has failed massively. |
