I think I need a do over...

tried mowing my swamp of a front yard, and got the lawn tractor stuck to the point i had to pull it out with the 4 runner.

than since we are having 3 days of dry weather for the first time in awhile, I figured it would be a good time to take down the canvas tent I set up back on Easter weekend in the wooded area behind my house..only to discover its full of black mold/mildew on the lower 1/3.  wasn't like that when I checked it a week or so ago, but since than we've had about 4-5 inches of rain.  Im not even sure I want to put the effort it into trying to salvage it and may just toss it.....note to self...canvas tents aren't for long term setup...

than i went in for lunch, but decided to grab a shower and also hose off the dog who was muddy as fuck.  After getting the dog cleaned the shower stall was muddy as fuck so I put a stopper in the drain with the intent of letting the stall fill with water and than pour bleach in it to soak.

Went to fix and eat my lunch...10-15 minutes later, oh hell....the water...

Yup...water spilled out of the stall, onto the tiles, and is dripping through the light fixtures in the garage...

sigh....

Red Bull winning a Gran Prix is always a great start to a Sunday. Heading out now to see a movie, stop by the casino for lunch and maybe some Blackjack, then to the range to finish the day.

Went for a 3 mile run this morning at 9:30am then took kid and kids friend to get coffee. Wife left with step kid and I did some yard work and then sat down and enjoyed the first time in 18 months that nobody has been home.  It's awesome

Church this morning for the first time in a few weeks due to diving. My place is a mess, so I'm doing oodles of laundry, cleaning, etc. today. I've been spending a lot of time diving or doing pool laps, so I've kind of let things go. Organizing the dive gear so it doesn't take over the LR. Diving buddy might be in town for a weekend in a few weeks, staying at my place so it's good incentive to get things taken care of. Just a lazy day doing things at a slow pace.

It's my fun day.  My 'I don't have to run' day.

Despite watching several 'how to' videos, today I have managed to do a really amateur job of putting red coloring in the 'fire' pictogram on an AR lower.  Good enough to get the idea across.  So here I am back on ARFCOM.

Best to all!

Got off to an annoying start.

But watching Team NZ get to 6-1 in the Americas Cup while doing a little dry firing more than made up for it.

I worked third shift for over a decade.   This meant that I had to go to work on Sunday night.   Sundays is still a do nothing day 2 yrs after I retired.
I am enjoying my do nothing day.

Then I bought some beer.

So. Good.

Finished a 48 at the FD, came home and molested the wife , watched the morning political shows, took the 13 yo to McDonalds because she can no longer eat home cooked food.

Bought myself a milkshake .  Considering a nap. It looks like rain.

Must be some motivation around here somewhere , maybe I'll find it later.

SO and I hiked the Green River Gorge in Saluda all the way to the start point of the Green River Narrows Race held in November. You have to be a serious kind of crazy to start down that stretch of violent whitewater frothing over huge boulders in a kayak. Watched a beautiful buck bound up through the woods on the hike out...obviously knew I didn't have a rifle.

I'm wiped.

Got up at 4:30 drove an hour to our current job site. Drank coffee until the crew showed up at 6. Nailed down 23 square of shingles. Now sitting in the truck with the A/C blasting. Think we are going to call it a day.

My buddy has a large walnut down on his property. Going to head over there tonight and load up the logs. Then take them to another friend who has a small  sawmill. Will make some pretty cabinets if I ever find the time to build them.

Then I'll go home have a couple beers and go to bed.

As of today I've worked 37 days straight. It's my busy season!

Wife and kids went to church. I took the bike for a ride into work for a few.

Had to meet a client to give her kidney failure cat fluids, but then we decided it was poor Jake's time.

Came home and began working on the railing for the pool deck stairs.

Took a break about 2:00p to take the family to see "Cars 3"

Came home and finished the railing.

Scale of 1 - 10.  about a 4.

No one hurt, sick, or dead.  Just down.

Wanted to go fishing and/or take the dogs out for some exercise, just couldn't seem to generate enough ambition to do it.

Man, what a great day.

Started out at church.

Then 3hrs on the tractor improving the hunting property, set up some new camera stations, tested a couple guns and loads. Wife cooked deer burgers and brats and keeps bringing me cold beer.

Wife needed satisfied. Husbandly duty fulfilled.

I'm blessed beyond imagination

Mounting some things on my walls -- really hard to do because I still can't move my left arm so well. And because I am learning what size pilot hole for various drywall anchors. I really get a sense of getting better everyday, though, when I'm finished.

And, I'm still coming here and typing stuff (the docs said that I should play around on the computer to exercise my brain -- if they only knew).

Priorities, you have them.

I snapped a bolt off in the new ring gear for my truck....

Edit: If rebuilding your chrysler 9.25 rear axle, and you have a FACTORY manual that says ring gear bolt tourqe is 115 ft/lbs. It is a typo. 65 ft/lbs is the correct number
