There was a thread on it. 9ft of water in the commissary/BX. 900mil worth of damage just to Keesler. But the field is cleared of debris and open and taking flights.

Keesler didn't fare well and Biloxi...? Have you not been watching the news?

Biloxi is decimated. Pretty much the whole city will have to be rebuilt.

Huge damage at Keesler

* Base Commander is estimating $800M -$900M
* Every single structure is damaged
* Entire Housing areas under water
* Everyone accounted for - no deaths at Keesler
* Beau Rivage - water up to 3rd story
* Keesler is limping through with generators
* 80% of all trees - gone
* 9 Foot water in commissary/BX

Tech Training Issues

Students have not been evacuated/Tech Training classrooms are now shelters

No inbound students or TDY personnel for at least 3 wks

Not anticipating starting classes back up until 3 Oct 05

On Base Damage Assessment

No Long Distance capability

Limited local and cell phone

DSN lines are operational

MS Power Co does not anticipate power back to base for 3 wks

All power running on generator

Hospital running on generator power (C-section done in the dark)

All permanent party housing unlivable, still trying to find out where everyone is displaced to

Runway anticipated to be operational by 1100 hours today

FEMA working to relocate some on base personnel to other bases

Communication to inbound ACFT via UHF Radio

Hanger damage where 2 AFRC C-130's are bed down (damage assessment to follow)

AEF Issues

Keesler asking for early return of 311 members in the AOR to be w/ their families
