Probably just a publicity gimmick to get you to donate some money. They just don't give you a press pass.

I didn't think so.  But it does say that it is one.  I'm sure you're right though.  I'd never have tried to use it.

I'll bet its a tactic to get more resources out in the world gathering info on voting records, speeches, local media bias', etc.

i hope they send me one! i'll see if it works!

It's probably based upon how much, and more importantly, which part of the NRA you have contributed to over the years.  I get 3 solicitations a week from them.  I think they would do better to send out a quarterly request for fund.  It must cost a bunch to send all that crap out when 98% of it goes into file 13.

The NRA is an old hand at raising money, they know works and what doesn't. I know a lot of people don't like to get mailings, but remember lobbying is not cheap. I contribute whenever I can.

I read an article about that in one of the NRA magazines, and it gave the percentages of return on investment of those mailings. (I don't recall the numbers).  While many don't like them, it's a very good fundraiser for the NRA.
I don't understand why some get so mad about it; It's not like a phone call, that interrupts what you're doing. How hard is it to drop something in the trash can?  It usually makes me feel good when I throw mail in trash, because that means it wasn't a bill.
