I was at the last local gun show trying to sell an AR15.
I was down to $550 in cash and I still had no takers.
There were at least 6 talbles there where the AR15 or AR15 parts were the main sales items.
Only one vendor seemed to be doing business.

I hope something else comes along that can be built as easily as the AR. I've had fun building them but its starting to get old.

Maybe the new sig 556 will be fun to tinker with. Who knows.

I think everybody that wants one probably has one by now. Young guys are always coming up, but after the ban sunseted, everybody bought one.

One?

You can't have just one!

Hell, $625 would still go fast.

No kidding.

It just depends on who sees it.  I took an old AR that I built to a local gun show, just to see if I can get rid of it, and no one was even remotely interested.  The local FFL that I do business with can't keep them  in stock, they are his best selling rifle.

The California DOJ is estimating that some 30,000 new lowers have been brought into the state in the last 6 months with the buyers waiting for the DOJ to list Stag (and others) as "evil." When they are listed, the owners can register them to make them "legal" in CA.

Consider that no AR's have been purchased legally in CA in any year that begins with a "2" and that not many gun enthusiasts are aware of this "window" in the law. That tells me that there is plenty of demand for AR's.

The ban and the threat of renewal got people to buy ARs.

I had one in the EE for $500 and all I got were offers in the $400-$450 range. I kept it.

I think that sales on AR's are slow due to people holding out for the gas piston uppers to become more available.

Part it out, you might make more.  I think people look for parts more than rifles since they're so easy to build/customize, lots of folks like to go the DIY route vs. buying a complete rifle, unless they're buying factory new.

Reasons why there are no takers: People want flat-top's, middy carbines are the rave, carbine gas systems are out.  People also want SPR's and 1:7 barrels.  The market will change again and your M4 will be back in style.

I don't have that much luck getting a decent price on anything at Gunshows. Usually a bunch of dealers trying to lowball me.

Post it on the EE.

Maybe it's saturated but I think it's a good thing. The last five or so years have seen a virtual explosion in the availability  and visibility of QUALITY AR guns and parts.

Obviously since you cannot have just one you are obligated to kit each one out with lights, new grips, optics, slings, etc.

I am the same way, I love my AR, and still find them interesting, but I'm getting bored with them.  I'm tired of them being one of the only modern military style rifle that I see in any numbers.  I wish something else would become as available and easy to work on as the AR.

Geeez...I need to buy or make two more minimum.  My local funshop was willing to order two more lowers for me, but was unwilling to even speculate on when the lowers would arrive.  On the other hand, that shop has complete guns for $900-$1200.  I'd really rather build it my way and not have to buy another complete for that kind of price.  Especially if I am not getting exactly what I want for the money.

I'd say that demand is still pretty healthy.  I'm hoping that ADCO gets another shipment of RRA stuff in the next couple of weeks.  Would love to pair a RRA lower with ADCO's Patrol Carbine upper...

Why buy them?  I am still waiting for them to flood the streets, along with the blood of the victims of the AWB sunset.  I even heard the ice cream man will bring them to the kids.
