reason number 923 why i dont have kids
 i wouldve wanted to know where she heard the term and i think i wouldve explained it--youve already had the birds and bees talk, im assuming, at her age--just more info id guess the boy toy has no kids or at least no girls?? |

One of her favorite shows is "Friends", so that explains where she heard it.... The funny thing is that I have told her before, only in terms she can understand... so of course as she gets older, we get more and more graphic... [yikes!] I'm trying really hard to give her a REAL definition... without going into too much detail here, I missed out on the FACTS way too long!!!! I want more for her! As for the boy toy.... SINGLE DAD... father of a 7 year old girl and 10 year old boy!!! But HE knows how to shoot!!!! (Plus I think guys are WAY more protective of their girls "that way") |

I plan to be just as open with mine when that time comes! Geez, these days you can't edjumucate the kids enough on the subject...who wants their baby to end up with an STD or worse yet, a baby before they are ready for it.
If you avoid this type of discussion, they will just go somewhere else to find the info out, or learn through experience hock.gif I would prefer my children feel confident that they can come to me with any question and get an honest answer! Sounds like you're a great mom |

I went threw this while keeping my best friends kids for 6 months awhile back. The oldest was 14. She asked me what it was and "how" to get one. Her mom is just like me and very open to just explaining things the way they are,, I sat her down called her mom for a quick "is it ok if I explain this" thingy and got a "go for it". I explained it to her and she was like humm ok ,, so "how" do I get one. I explained that "part" or "the area" as I jokingly call it and what to try and that it takes practice to get the big O so I have been told through the years. Her response was well that kool. I told her that men have been trying to fig out that part since day one and most never do. Was a great ending to the convo. She's as close to a daughter I will ever get so take it for what it is. I thought it was a really sign of trust to ask me a guy. I have watched this kid grow up and to tell you the truth, Time really does go faster as you get older cause not that long ago she was 3!!! damn it... anway just give her what she needs to know and let her go from there... I still though get the occasional call or when I'm there about technice and those I refer to her mom. I can't give tech advice about "pulling the trigger" since I don't have one. Oh and RELAX most guys figuared out how to take care of biz by atleast 6 or 7. This excludes those that are or were "SLOW" ym |

That is so AWESOME! Yes, GUYS figure it out - I've got a 10 year old one of those, and I know guys anyway... but seriously! Girls don't figure that stuff out - or maybe it was just me? maybe we need another sidebar here about how old we were when we figured out the big O... for me it was YEARS into my pathetic marriage, and not with any regularity until 2 years ago - a year after the divorce. I honestly have no idea what to tell you seeing that I have no teenagers and I just got out of my teens myself. I didn't really ask anyone anything though. I kinda figured things out for myself through books. I was too embarrassed to ask questions like that. It's funny now because me and my mom talk about sex all the time now. Funny how things change once you're grown. Sorry I can be of no help!

I think it is great that she felt comfortable enough to come and ask you. Our son would always come to us since we have always been blatantly honest. Shoot my parents could not even talk about sex,I did not want that for him,and I would rather we discuss it with him and give him the right information than he learning it from some one who didn't know what they were talking about.
For you guys that is what you deserve for popping into the womens forum.  Anything else we can discuss and chase you away with???

Sorry ladies, I had a friend ask about getting the internet at home and how and what and all this. I asked her what she was going to do when her son started surfing porn. She said Dad would have to deal with it. A month later she came back and said Dad had to take him out back.
Thanks for sharing the knowledge, it is amazing how many women have no idea what rings their chimes and no way to help you get there.
