over the weekend we had alot of interesting interactions with the tourists coming through our town.  First Monday Trade Days is a big draw for the town, so the FD does its annual 'Fill the Boot for MDA.'

I am standing there holding the boot and a middle aged 'Sally SoccerMom type' drives up an rolls down her window.  She appears to be in the process of fishing for change to make a donation.

Granted we have signs, banners, etc.  All saying "Help Jerry's kids"

SSM: "Is this to help those poor dogs?"
Me: "Uhm, no Ma'am, this is to help Jerry's kids"
SSM: "Oh, nevermind then..." <drives away>

I wanted to throw my boot at her, but... it was full of cash from other folks.

WE cleared 3600.00 Saturday and almost 2000.00 Sunday.  Not countign the loose change, probably another 300-500 in change.
