Hey guys, I got a laptop and it has a Wireless internet thingy.

I don't have the wireless internet in my house, but my neighbours have it.

My question is if it is illegal to connect to theirs? I think it is, I just wanted to make sure.

Perfectly legal with their permission...and it should not affect their stuff at all!

But, they will probably say no if asked...

If they're cool with it, then by all means go for it

chances are if they say no, then the next time you check on their connection it will be WEP encoded and you will never be able to use it..

Its unethical - and it WILL effect them if you are both using the internet at the same time (bandwidth will be split).

Is akin to stealing cable.

If they have half a brain, they will have it password protected- but many don't

Go get DSL and a wireless router you mooch.
