Anyone else seen this film? I think its one of the best war dramas I've seen, and totally underrated. I saw it once on TCM way back when, before it was out on DVD, then waited over a year just to record it! Thankfully, y'all can just buy it or add it to your DVD queue.

It is a war drama surrounding a group of nurses, headed by Claudette Colbert, and their trials and tribulations through the early parts of WWII.  Definitely worth a watch or three. Whats more amazing is that it is only a couple years from when the actual events depicted in the film occurred, and it was a true story.

Its also unique in that it didn't belittle the sacrifice our men and women in Bataan, Corregidor and the Philippines, and what they went through. Very few films I've seen do that. Another film that does very well is They Were Expendable, a war drama from John Ford set in the same location from the aspect of a PT boat squadron.

No CGI in this one, so all the children aren't interested.

Should also put "The Best Years of Our Lives" in there, it might be a post war setting, but it's the best movie ever made about "coming home".

That one was a very good film. Also reminds me of Since You Went Away, a great film about survival on the homefront.
