We were watching the first episode of the final season ("Camp"), and our two friendly officers were returning a wayward child to his mommy at her home on a Los Angeles side street when I noticed something familiar. I'm not going to say what it is, but I then referred to the movie I thought I saw it in, and sure enough, the director of the movie for-sure 100% paid homage to Adam-12 in this scene. In fact, it's actually cool now that I know. The details are unmistakable.
Again, I'm not going to put a spoiler in this post because I think you guys are going to want to see it for yourself and then try to match it to the movie I'm talking about. Rest assured, 99% of the members here have seen the movie and probably know it quite well. The scene from Adam-12 is within minutes of the end of the first episode of the final season. Check it out on Netflix and post here if you think you know which movie paid homage to the scene where they are returning the kid to his mom. I think you guys are going to like this. |

Agreed. It's freaky how almost exact they are! I was like "Whoaaaaaaa... Mind blown!"

I'm going to need a spoiler cause it's been ~40 yrs since I've seen the show and I don't have netflix.

WOW. It's basically the same scene with different actors. Creepy.

Watched the scene you mention on YouTube, have no idea what movie you're talking about.

I watched it and it meant absolutely nothing to me.
Way before my time.

You guys probably know the movie like the back of your hand, and it's not that old. Think of action movies set in LA, of course. Movies that feature LAPD in one form or another. |

For fucks sake I gave you the youtube at least clue me in.
Apparently the brain cell that stored that info in my head has fallen victim to beer tonight. |

Something to do with certain liquid metal infiltration units? |

Fascinating.
I am not the only person on ARFCOM who likes watching the backgrounds of old ADAM-12 episodes. |

OK, here's a list of similarities:
1. The street 2. The driveway 3. LA cops 4. Black and white patrol car 5. The kid. He's 12ish, always in trouble with the law, and a juvenile delinquent. 6. The car in the driveway. The color of the car. 7. The house itself. L-shaped with the garage on the left. 8. When Reed and his partner drive away, the camera sort of features the seal and motto on the side of the patrol car, just like Cameron does at the start of his scene. 9. Telephone poll directly behind the house. |
