And they had a phone number on the big screen where you could text messages to.

There were some pretty funny things being posted there.

"Came up from Alabama to see the Stray Cats."
(The Stray Cats and Pretenders were there also.)
"Blonde in the gold cowboy boots I love you."
"Blonde in the gold cowboy boots, how about a trust fund for life?"
(Saw her out front, waiting for the doors to open. She was pretty hot, about 20, nice tan, Daisy Dukes, and the boots. )

So, I get out my cell phone, and send "Are there any arfcommers here?"
I get a text back from the radio station that sponsored the concert, thanking me for posting, so I knew I had the right number.

But they don't post my message!

They posted a bunch of silly stuff, and re-posted a bunch of them, but my message never came up.

Not sure what to make of that.

Then the wife gets a little ticked.
"I thought you were going to post something about me."

Anyway, it was an OK show.
Really only went to see ZZ.
Here's one pic:

But why not post my stupid message?

Is "arfcommer" a dirty word?

Yup it is the same pretty much as a dirty sanchez.

they probably only pick the ones that are funny or "cute"...

nice pic though.

My guess is they were swamped with text messages and yours got displayed while you were in the concert.

Nice pics,   I like the upright bass with the bass boat paint.

Nice to see senior citizens getting out of the home and getting exercise

ZZ Top + Ted Nugent, summer of '03.  Sweetest concert ever.

Dig the old Tele Bass.
2 knobs, volume, tone, one pickup. Keep it simple.

ZZ is still around
I thought all their music sounded the same

I saw the same show last month in NY. The Stray Cats were great and ZZ kicked some major ass.

Unfortunately, I had to suffer through the Pretenders.

They didn't do any of that text messaging stuff though.

I'm gonna see 'em next month.  I've never seen them and figured it would be one of the few remaining opportunities.

I never cared much for their music until I tried to play it.  It's harder than it sounds.
