Helped my step-FIL try to clean up his musician son’s apartment. His wife he’d met while on tour from Latvia had left him, and he made a rather credible suicide attempt by slitting his wrists and OD’ing on heroin. He wound up in a coma for a month or so.
The apartment was very clean and uncluttered in a Spartan starving-artist sort of way, except for the dried blood everywhere which we tried to scrub up with hydrogen peroxide. You could see where he started in the bed, then got loopy and bored waiting to die, and wandered around the apartment to the bathroom, then the kitchen for a snack, and then to the living room to watch TV where he finally passed out. He’s actually fully functional and a rather nice guy, and judging by his looks and weight, has kicked the heroin too. Hasn't been in trouble since. |
