First time in about 18 years had a State trooper behind me at a light, made a left turn Lights came on instantly, pulled over rolled window down. She asked me in a very nice tone, if I saw the no left turn sign...

Me: What left turn sign"
Trooper: sort of giggled
Trooper: license and registraion please

Trooper goes back to car for about 90 seconds, then comes back and say"I just gonna give you a warnig:
Me: Thank you
Her: Yeah the ticket is $151
Me: Wll then thank you VERY MUCH
Her: Have a nice day

I got off with a warning....THAT IS SO NOT LIKE ME....I was like, holy shit...I got off with a warning....SWEET

I got pulled-over a few weeks ago for the first time in years as well. It was a Friday night about 11:30. I was driving my wife's Honda CRV out to pickup my teenage kids from a school party. I passed this HP parked on the side of a one-way street and he whips out and nabs me quick. I was kind of freaked-out, because I was well under the speed limit and I don't drink, etc. He walks up to my driver's side door and I ask "is there a problem?". He kind of smirks and says "yeah, your headlight is out". I told him that I had just replaced it a few days ago (and I had) and that I must have got it oily or something. He asks me for my registration and license and insurance card. I couldn't find the card (cause it's my wife's rig). He says he's going to go back to his car and write a warning.

I tell him that I'll keep looking and that I really wasn't a "problem driver" or something like that and that we ALWAYS have insurance and current registration. I told him that I support the MDTs and other IT equipment that the city cops use to support my position that I'm on the up-and-up. He goes back to his car and I keep tearing the car apart looking for the proof of insurance. He comes back and hands me my stuff and says he's not gonna bother writing the warning and tells me to have a nice night. I guess he radioed dispatch (whose computers I also support and who I am on-call for) and just figured he need not bother with me. I never did find the insurance papers, but the wife dug them up at home later to put in there.

Anyways... so that went well. But it kind of shook me up at first because it's been SO long since I've been stopped and wasn't expecting it. Can't imagine how shook-up a guy would be if he had to use his CCW in self-defense and then talk to the cops. That's why I drum the saying into my head "I was in fear for my life and I need to talk to a lawyer before I make any statements". Or something to that effect...

There is not a single mention of a firearm or discussion of female cop fapability in either of those stories.

0/10 and 0/10.

Now, if you care to try again I'll consider revising.

I've been pulled over three times in my life by state troopers: 2x TX; 1x PA.

Warnings all three times. Two of the warnings resulted from the Semper Fi Hookup ®.

I'm not saying this goes for every cop but... I hated writing tickets.

Your attitude... pretty much decided if you got one.

Totally guilty... but nice... and I shined you on.

However, be a dick... and you bought it.

(And... the more you yelled... the more I wrote.)

Oh please, it was a job. A lot of folks I know have done it for much longer than I did... and, they're much better at it than I was.

Some of them are even members here.

I just did my best to be a professional.

Like the man said... "I didn't always do what was legal... but I always tried to do what was right."

I did a ride-along a few years ago and learned that this is very true. Guys who were stone-cold busted slowrolling a stop sign or speeding got cut breaks because of how they acted. People who were marginal but assholes got written.

A good friend of mine who is a deputy in Tennessee says that he generally won't write a ticket unless you're throwing babies out of a moving car...but he can be talked into it.

+1!

That's how I was back in the day when I wore the uniform. Any paperwork I generated was a 'contact', it didn't really matter to the brass whether it was a ticket, a report or a warning.

And for the ones that decided to get nasty & threatening, we had a saying; "Anyone can talk themselves into jail."

Not being a JBT (I, too, hate those!) but these deserved it (mean drunks, etc.) and clearly earned the ride.

Most of our guys have to be threatened with disciplinary action to get them to write any tickets other than parking tickets.

Awesome!

I got pulled over the other day for doing 70+ in a 55. The officer walked up to my car, got an important call on his radio and took off running back to his car. As he literally tossed me my license he yelled "slow down!"

I was like "Holy shit! I got off with a warning!"

(That's the first time I've ever been pulled over for speeding in a motor vehicle in 13 years of driving)
