Picked up the standard B-27 target they use for CHL in Texas from Bass Pro because I'm taking my class on march 9th and wanted to be sure I would pass. I kinda knew I would do decent but even I surprised myself. Been practicing trigger pull and proper grip and it's really payed off well. All this with my new M&P 45. Had this been the real test, I would've scored 250/250. scroll down to see new pistol and target. Also, I realize I'm shooting low, will have to adjust myself to that. Did 20 rds at 3 yds 20 rds at 7 yds and 10 rds at 15 yds

Atta boy! Now take some training classes from one of the pro instructors in TX. Paul Howe is there to name just one.

Nice shooting, Tex!

Thanks guys! Most of the scattered hits were from 15 yards so I'll have to work on my accuracy from 15-25 yards

i got a score of 249 out of 250 if i remember right, and i was hung over, shooting offhand wearing sunglasses with my eyes closed.

The shooting portion was kind of a joke, they had grandma's and first time shooters and I saw their targets and was thinking, "Holy crap, I'm safest standing directly in front of them" but they all passed.

They only people who failed were the ones who could not follow instructions and fired too many rounds per each shooting drill or did not know how to work their weapon.

With that target you should be good to go.

Mine don't look like that it's suppose to be more spread out and in the white..... Am I wrong?

But seriously nicely done!

My instructor used the BSOB (broad side of a Barn) test. 5 out of 5 hits on a 10" plate from 10'.

There was a lady in my class who hit the ground every time... . I commend her for being there though. Once the instructor showed her how the sights work (use both, not just the front one, lol) she eventually got it.

Yes sir! If it was a real bad guy I'd be shooting a little higher up light between the nipples. Don't get why they switched to this target. More vital organs higher up than where the X is. Although, a 45 to the stomach area would probably have you using a bag as a toilet the rest of your life if you live through it.

Did you time the shots? Did you shoot the actual course of fire?

Yep. Got all the info from a CHL website and did the shots from low ready and had a buddy time me with stop watch when he said to fire.

They probably got tired of assholes like me making smiley faces a la Lethal Weapon (admittedly at the 3 yd line )

I liked doing the renewal test - no limit on how fast you can fire
