I took my G17 and decided to toss into the muck just to see how it would handle it.

You just tickled it IMO.  Looks like fun.

I like my old refurbed 2nd gen G17.

1.  It would embarass itself.
2.  None of them has the guts to drop their $1000+ polished and tuned "reliable" gun in the much.

Glocks are some of the most reliable tools on the planet.
Not pretty, just functional.

That wasn't torture.  That was normal life in a Glock's world.

No doubt about it, Glocks are tough guns. Nice video.

Actually, a few years ago one the members here at arfcom did just that with about six different guns including a Glock. Only he used a bucket of sand and the only guns that worked afterward were the Kimber Custom II and a Sig P226.

While I'm at it, I thew my AK in the mud too... but then I doubt anyone here will be surprised by the results.  What's funny though is I took the top cover off and threw two hands full of mud into the action then put the cover back on.

Me and my buddy dropped his Gen2 Glock 19 into sand with the slide locked back, buried it,  dug it out, and emptied the mag no problem.

We did the same thing again... no problems.

Again... no problems.

Finally, after burrying the pistol in sand about 5 times, it needed help on a few shots.  The sand had finally built up to the point that it was short cycling.

The open slide design isn't very good at keeping junk out of the pistol.

i'd be impressed with the results if you let it dry for a couple weeks so that the mud was baked onto the internals, then it still fired flawlessly

was the beretta well-lubed before the test?  when i first got mine is was bone-dry and failed to feed almost every shot.  a light coat of oil and it's been 100% since.  i haven't tried filling it with mud or anything like that though.

I didn't clean the gun until I got home.  I left it sit in the sun for about an hour (77 degrees and sunny).  The mud dried pretty good.  I fired another 100 rounds through it before putting it away.  Not a single problem.  The M92 was done for the day.  I even stripped it down, washed it quickly in clear water trying to clear the gunk... I let it sit for 20 minute or so, then fired it again. It was still a single shot.

It failed the test twice.  I'll have to upload the first test, probably later tonight or tomorrow.  I was shocked it failed so badly.  But anyway, after it failed the first test I completely cleaned the gun and oiled it to see if this made a difference.  The results are seen in the link in this thread, it still failed.  I hoped letting it dry a little after doing a field type cleaning (rinsing in water while stripped) would get it working again, but it didn't.

Friction built up in the slide rails.  You could feel the action getting gritty.  The mud was more like a silt.  It got into everything.

It looked like the Berreta got abit more muddy than the glock.

I noticed the huge glob of mud that you slung off your hand in the berreta video.

Did the M92 get dirtier than the Glock?

That doesn't matter. The point of the video is to prove Glock's superiority.

Nice Tests!  I did think it was interesting that the Beretta did fire a few shots straight out of the water, at least.  The AK was impressive, especially with the handfuls of goo thrown directly into the action!

He actually scooped up mud with the Beretta.  Something I noticed didn't happen when he 'tested' the Glock.
