It's pretty interesting I guess, and makes for a decent conversation piece albeit sort of useless for anything else. But I vaguely recall seeing a "non-NFA" short barrelled "AOW" shotgun with a sig brace, and was wondering if one could also do the same on the 590 shockwave while maintaining the legal status of the weapon. Does anyone have any knowledge of the legality behind this?

I can't imagine shooting a 12 ga with that on it would feel too great.

Wish I still had my shockwave ...

The dentists love those things, they bring in lots of high dollar work.

That birds head grip angle is a hell of a lot easier on your wrists than a standard cruiser grip or even the Hogue Tamer which you can't put on there anyway.

MOSSBERG SHOCKWAVE OVERVIEW Clint Smith seems to like the Shockwave a lot. Failed To Load Title Or did you buy an island full of undead Nazis? |

I want one to, no reason other than just cuz.
Can't find one in stock though. |

This. You're not supposed to get a sight picture with something like that, it's a point and shoot sub 25 yard weapon. View Quote It's a range toy. And that's fine for less than $400. It's also probably the best way to do a Form 1 SBS right now. Buy your Shockwave, fill out paperwork, have toy to enjoy until the stamp comes back, then add real stock. |

We have had other threads on this firearm.
The above linked youtube is good and should get you to some other youtube vids that are also worthwhile. A version of the 870 similar to the shockwave was used for witness protection is part of what I learned in another thread and searches turned up some stuff. If you don't like it, sell it. If you want to learn how to use it, research and learn. When I run into one in person and have the cash to spare I will buy one because it is what it is. Part of why I will happily get one is just because so many folks ask why. That is like asking why there are drum mags. Or semi autos. Or full autos. Or silencers. Or zero turn mowers. Or vehicles able to go above the speed limit of the nation. |

Is this sort of shotgun good for anything other than breaching?

I'm just glad it doesn't have a tank brake on it. Or 5 rails. Or a chainsaw rope pull or some shit. Mossberg gets back 1 point

Nice! I picked up mine today as well...now if I stay up past 2am I can watch those posted videos...my internet lacks

I tried to have the LGS order one. I am on the list. There was one for sale on Armslist, but they wanted almost 500 for it.

I wonder who will be the first to blow off their hand accidentally, even with the strap on.

good video. I have no use for one, but since I have no impulse control I will buy one as soon as I seen one here locally.

You guys piss me off.
Clint Smith pisses me off. Mossberg pisses me off. I'd never heard of this thing and I would have eventually saw one, laughed it off, and that would have been that. You clowns keep going on about it and I start to think, "Wait a minute......" Then you start talking about how fun it wold be to shoot and how it could be useful and I start to think, "Well, they DO make some points......" Now I'm thinking I might want to go look for one. Dammit! You all are BAD INFLUENCES! "Good deal, good deal, good deal!". Dammit, Clint...... |

Back to the OP's question, Black Aces Tactical makes a non-NFA 8" barreled Sig braced pump made from a bare "firearm" receiver. So in theory, you could take any factory made PGO shotgun, I mean "firearm" and cut the barrel and mag tube down to 8" and add a Sig arm brace or Shock wave blade and be legal as long as your over 26". Those grapes definitely must be sour! |

How loud is the action when you rack it? It might make a great compact and lightweight shotgun-racking sound machine for running around the house with in the night before switching to the actual HD gun if the intruder doesn't leave.
