And they tell me this:

"You will not be allowed to take anything with you into the testing room, so please do not bring items to the test facility. Possession of anything such as computer discs, electronic devices, firearms, knives, weapons, purses, briefcases, backpacks, books, reading material, calculators, notebooks, cellular phones, pagers, umbrellas, pencils, pens, erasers, etc., will result in immediate failure of the test and removal from the Test Center. "

So I called the info line and asked them, "If I was a certified Peace Officer and I am required to carry my firearm for my job", the lady who answered cut me off and said "If you are the Chief of Police and you carry a gun into the class, you will fail the test. End of story!" I said thank you and hung up.

Seems like bullshit to me...

what kind of job are you going for?

I had to interact daily with the TSA (and the "securty" people before TSA) you don't want to work for these idiots if you can help it.

Momma told me to be quiet if I couldn't say anything nice about the bumbling imbeciles and fools at the TSA.

Take the job...

That way we can make fun of you!

Maybe you could change it from the inside!

No, I was just asking because I wanted to know if there was some sort of waiver...

Might be a tad bit unfair... If you have other suggestions for job opportunities in the greater Metropolitian Indianapolis area, please feel free to enlighten me. Did you at all read the rest of the post? I have no choice, I need a job. I need to be able to take care of my child.

I'd avoid moving to Indiana if at all possible. The job market for the entire state is horrible, unless you're in the medical field.

I have no choice at this time... It is where the courts have allowed me to take my daughter.

We need people with a brain in that job --

good luck, hope you get what you want.

A co-worker’s wife worked as an airport screener at Dulles up until it was taken over by TSA.

She actually liked the job. She also had plenty of stories where (according to her) the passengers were the ones who were clueless!

While TSA undoubtedly has its share of idiots (and thieves!), so do other outfits.

You just might find that the job isn’t so bad. Granted, if you do, that’ll have to be your little secret since no one here will want to hear it.

Good luck.

Depending on the test site they don't check ya.

I took the test about a year ago, they held it at a CompUSA. The lady just said, dont bring anything in. I had my cellphone and a knife in my pockets.

No one knew they were there, no one ever found out they were there, and that was that.

Where are you looking? I live near there and I could keep an eye open for you.

Well lets see, I've run a food bank, driven a truck, I was the security manager for a precious metals broker, customer service, retail management...

I am looking in the Greater Indy area. Greenwood to Castleton...

There are a multitude of jobs throughout the state for truck drivers, some OTR and some dedicated/local. Though my company is not in the Greenwood area, we are looking for several CDL drivers.
