Body art: American flag, eagle normally cost between $100 and $120
Carson - Tattoo the red, white and blue.
Free patriotic tattoos will be offered Wednesday at South Bay Tattoo & Piercing to mark the one-year anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
A colorful American flag, eagle, or stars normally cost $100 to $120.
"There are people out there into body art and one of the ways they express themselves is to get something that means something to them," the parlor's piercing specialist Steven Otte said. "T-shirts, hats and tattoos are things that help people deal with this kind of tragedy."
Otte and owner Frank Espinoza wrestled with what constituted an appropriate promotion for the Sepulveda Boulevard tattoo shop.
Besides offering free patriotic tattoos, they'd like to solicit donations for the 9/11 relief fund, but only if an outside agency collects the money, Otte said.
"The focus of this is we're getting the satisfaction of doing something patriotic about Sept. 11."

My comments: Sorry I don't have a link. I copied this from yesterday's Long Beach Press-Telegram. I'm thinking about getting an eagle tattoo myself, if the place isn't too crowded on Wednesday. It's for a good cause.
