Looks like it will finally happen soon. Academy sports is listing 9mm and 40 models with and with out thumb safety and L versions in FDE. The long FDE versions have a "tactile LCI" looking at the pictures it is held in place with a roll pin on top of the slide. I hope they offer that model without the LCI. I will pick one or two of these up when they are released.

Updating link to more picks since it looks like the academy pulled the listings

Interesting..but all of my 1.0s have been just fine.

Improved internals? That's what counts.

A better trigger; a better barrel, please.

I agree, it lists 2.0 trigger, I hope it is an improvement

I agree.

Looks like the same articulated trigger (boooo), better grip texture (good).

Hopefully they fix the accuracy.

What are those cutouts on the frame?

The long FDE one has my interest. Never had an M&P before.

Interesting. Any idea what all the changes are? Is their solution to losing the military trials, put their offering on the civilian market?

Rumor was it is modular like the Sig 320

Ahh, that makes sense. It's not a pretty pistol to begin with, but the cutouts don't help.

ETA:
I think you're right. When you zoom in, it looks like there are numbers inside the cutout.

Have you shot the 2015+ production guns? I'm no professional but IMO they feel as good as older versions upgraded with APEX.
Link Posted: 12/17/2016 10:35:29 AM EST
Does it have a slide release on the right side for lefties?
Link Posted: 12/17/2016 10:35:36 AM EST
So, they used he texturing on the Shield .45, and the LCI from their CA guns, and are hoping people will see it as new and revolutionary?

Or is this just their failed attempt of a gun to win the FBI contract, finally hitting shelves?
Link Posted: 12/17/2016 10:36:19 AM EST
Not liking that they kept the hinged trigger shoe. I loved my Apex M&P but you couldn't shoot USPSA production due to the after market trigger shoe. It needs to come factory with something like the Apex trigger shoe.
Link Posted: 12/17/2016 10:42:39 AM EST
Definitely an improvement.

Interesting. I was wondering too. On the picture of the right side of the black one you can see what might be the serial number up there in those notches above the rail.
Link Posted: 12/17/2016 10:54:46 AM EST

love mine but the trigger does suck.

That's probably what it is, since old M&Ps have the serial number at the top of the frame behind the slide stop.

Do I spy an overtravel stop?

It looks very nice. I like the forward slide serrations and the different grip texture. Does the trigger guard have a more defined undercut?

Better trigger yes, the last gen barrel is pretty good.

My Pro Series 5" has a damned good trigger, while my first year .45 has the old crappy one....both of them shoot just fine, and trigger quality is way, way over rated in a fighting gun. Stop worrying about reset, and all the silly dram stops mattering. As for accuracy, the 5" 9mm is supposedly one of the crappy ones...yet I seem to have no issues qualifying at 50yds, or ringing a 5" plate at 100yd.

I dig it. Moreso if it's a Sig P320 chassis system and is compatible with 1.0 mags...

Always wanted a long slide version to compliment my full size and compact.

Are these the results of the most recent pistol trials?

I would guess
Link Posted: 12/17/2016 11:14:06 AM EST
Another note is they did away with roll pins as the pins are solid...
Link Posted: 12/17/2016 11:18:59 AM EST
That's where I am with this.

If they want to win me back, I need a gun bigger than the compact and smaller than the FS. The G19 is that size...
Link Posted: 12/17/2016 11:21:07 AM EST
What; no "Grip zone"?
Link Posted: 12/17/2016 11:25:37 AM EST
Beautiful pistols, but WTF is up with the thumb safety? I thought for sure, their next model would have a safety that was more streamlined like the M&P Shield. Nope, they put it on there as an afterthought it looks like.

I'll never understand why more companies don't make G19 sized models. Besides it being the perfect size for ccw, ban states flock to those 15 rounder guns.

Nice looking pistol, I never cared for the beavertail on the Gen 1s. Hopefully the 2.0 fixes the issues with the previous pistols...

I believe it is the failed FBI gun.

Yes, yes, but what I want to know is...what is a 2.0 trigger going to be?

More or less mush? Apex type or sear and an actual reset that is audible when function checking it after re-assemblies?

And was this their MHS entry re-branded for the civilian market?

I may have to pick one up.

Those are good guns. Wife's got one and absolutely loves it. I borrow it from time to time.

Personally I'm looking forward to seeing if the updates work. I wasn't disappointed with the old guns.

They both look nice.

The top one looks like a m&p and sig had a baby and the FDE one looks like it's got some 1911 in it.
