Yes and no.

You'll have a greater risk of oral cancer if you chew, but you won't hack up your lungs.  Also, DO NOT SWALLOW YOUR SPIT!

It does, but the corner store was out last week so I got a can of Grizzly, and that shit is horrible.  No flavor at all.  I chew mint btw.

I think so to an extent. It doesn't contain quite as many carcinogens as cigarettes but it's still not a safe alternative. the only safe alternative to smoking is not smoking. With that said...skoal is on sale here  2 cans for 7 bucks :) Do you guys buy pouches or long cut? I switch between apple and wintergreen, Mostly Pouches.

I still dip Copenhagen on a regular basis. But I need to stop. All it takes is looking at what happens when you get mouth cancer. Yeah, they can remove the cancerous areas, but your face is disfigured. Man I need to quit dipping. Just go google it. Should give you all the motivation you need.

I had some Cope and then some Grizzly.

Liked the Cope, not so much the Grizzly.

Any one tried Snus?  I keep wanting to try it, but they're always out.

I just quit skoal after 24 years. I have been quit for 5 days and It's killing me but I'm going to stay quit.  It costs too much I don't want the bad teeth or the cancer and I want to put the money towards my ammo and guns. I did not want to quit, as I really enjoy it but it was time and that is going to be that. Once I decided to quit, that was it. I will not go back even as I sit here with a full fresh can at my keyboard. It's the last can I bought and I am going t o keep it and not open it. Good luck to anyone that quits. Stay strong.

If you think a can of skoal costs too much wait till you see the cost of:

Having lower jaw removed due to cancerous growths

The weird ass equipment you'll need to feed yourself after losing lower jaw

Your online porn bill because you can no longer find a woman to touch you with a smelly rotting dead half missing face

A mask that will cover up the nastiness and the cost of crack so you can pay off some crack whore to come touch you

Man that cost of a can of skoal is either pretty damn cheap or expensive depending on how you look at it.

Your face you pay the costs have at it.

No woe is me though when stuff starts falling off.

Well, actually the TAX on Skoal is too much.  The Skoal itself would be pretty cheap.

I'm not a dipper, but I don't like seeing people getting taxed to death on their little pleasures.

Back in the good old days, a can of Cope was 39 cents and Skoal wa 49 cents. Smokes were 39 cents a pack. Quite a few years ago. The year would have been around 1971 or so.

I'm quitting in the next week or so. I've already quit smoking once 5 years ago so it shouldn't be too hard.

You could always try those nicotine mints, They worked pretty damn good for me after I quit smoking. IMO the hardest part is breaking the habit of doing something with your hands/ Having dip in your mouth.

ETA and thanks for wishing me luck , GL to you too. The main thing to being successful is you have to WANT to quit.

I used to hate cleaning up from the bastards who did this nasty habit.

When they would visit Sporting Goods in Wal-Mart, I'd often see where they would spit in the middle of the isle no matter what location of the department.  Plus to top that off, the fuckers would also spit inside of the thermos canisters and on top of other merchandise.  Drop the habit or gtfo.

<- hates chew users.

Wow that is seriously screwed up, I always at least spit into a trash can. That would make me bitter towards dippers too. I also try to avoid chewing while I am inside of a store or such. I can't believe those people don't even have the decency to at least find a damn trash can.

Haha I'd prefer dip over smoking anyday. I can't believe smokers tell me dipping is nasty. First off it doesn't have quite as many carcinogens ( Cancer causing chemicals) second off It doesn't smell horrible and affect everyone around you and thirdly it doesn't make you smell like a freaking ashtray for the rest of the day.
