When talking with a friend who was in Navy personnel during the mid 60's, he said that the Swift Boat started out as a volunteer duty for the enlisted men, but he did not know whether the officers were volunteers.  This brings up a few questions....

1.  Has Skerry ever claimed to have volunteered for the Swift Boats?

2.  If he did volunteer, would that show up in his service record?  (Sign your form 180 please).

3.  If he did not volunteer, did he get there by pissing off a Captain or Admiral along the way?

4.  Does 3 purple hearts and out sound like a scheme to get out of an unpleasant duty in any case?

Just thought I would ask....
