The bottom is a Century Arms Golani clone of a Galil that never failed me. I sold it to build an SBR though. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f33/dthbox/2010-06-24082606.jpg you both sides weapons there. Let's see some FAL's, UZI's, 13" carbines, etc. |

It had (in our opinion) an ugly black thumb hole stock on it. I fitted the folding stock and duracoated both of them at the same time. |

How about this one? I got called out to do a repair on an A4 Skyhawk. I asked for the maintenance/ service manual to get the repair specs. They said "Sure, be right back." I open them up and everything is in Hebrew. The company had just bought them from the IAF. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f33/dthbox/AR002302-1.jpg You win! |

Are IDF 603s rebarreled, or are they using original 1:12 still?

Are IDF 603s rebarreled, or are they using original 1:12 still? I don't have an answer to that question, but 1:12 with M193 will mess stuff up! And if you can find a 1:14 barrel, it REALLY causes the damage with 55gr ammo. |

My 603 clone. built with a NoDak Spud lower and upper receiver, and a correct vietnam-era 603 barrel assembly. I artificially weathered everything myself. Just shot it in the limited division of an ISRA National Defense Match, and came in first place. Actually, I came in second place overall with it, beating out everyone in the Limited, Optic, and Open division The shooter in the Optic division who beat me out overall was......me. Yeah, there were only seven entries and I shot two of them, but still. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u88/StevesZZ5/Izzy1a.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u88/StevesZZ5/Izzy2a.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u88/StevesZZ5/Izzy3a.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u88/StevesZZ5/Izzy4a.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u88/StevesZZ5/Izzy7a.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u88/StevesZZ5/Izzy5a.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u88/StevesZZ5/Izzy6a.jpg Here's wannabe Izzy copy carbine I'd built. Next to a 601 copy I built for my father to match the gun he had in the Air Force in '68. not to thread hijack but how does one go about doing that? |

Look up the type of gun you want to mimic on Google to get an idea of where the majority of the wear is generally at, and go from there. I did the majority of the work in a mock-up state without internals, and the barrel not torqued down. go slow. I'm sure others will say it's stupid, and to be a real man and simply USE it a lot to wheather it...but it's a clone. It's fake. I have other firearms that I'll put real wear on, but this isn't one of them. |
