I'm buying a shotgun from SgtiMak - a nice Win 1300.

I'm gonna set it up as a home defense gun, and would love to see some pics of y'alls to give me some ideas.

Some of my thoughts -

1. Mount a short rail on the foregrip for my Surefire M3.

2. Got to have a pistol grip. What I'd like to do is somehow attach a CAR telescoping stock.

Lemme see your pics.

Here is my new Remmy 870 before I put a surefire M69 foregrip, and forward pistol grip on it.

Neither did I, until a large crash woke me up one night.  There I was newly awake and getting a read on the situation.  I really didn't think anyone was there, but I grabed the .38 revolver out of the nightstand and went to take a look.  As I thought, it was only a pan that I left teetering in a bad spot.  My first reaction was, IF this was a home invasion, the culprit WOULD have had a weapon.  Thus, my 'Chiefs Special' snub nose 38 would be outgunned by most anything.  I then decided that a short shotgun would soon be on guard.

I got a Mossberg 500A Marine.  Why? Because I hate corrosion, and I obsess about guns not in the controlled atmosphere of the safes.  I may get a light, but I don't intend to accessorize beyond that.  I wouldn't reccomend getting a folder, as you may be inclined to shoot it without it shouldered.  That's fine as a novelty, but IMO, it would be a bad thing to do when you need it most.  12 guage recoil is too much to play that game.

high standard model 10A. Neat little 12g and one of the best home defense guns i have found. The only weak point is the low mag capicity.

It was, but time has washed it away. (When are we going to be able to search more than 6 months?)

It is in the BOTD section over at Pre-Ban.
Along with a couple other pics.

Not mine... but cool

Too bad they dont have an adapter for the 1300.

Edited: I imagine there's a way to make these cavarms adapters work.

I got the same model Mossy,  I put a Packmyre pistol grip on it and use 2 3/4 inch OO.  This gun will clear the house just racking it.  If you tuck it into your body when firing it it's easy enuf to control.

Used 870 $175

Wilson/Scattergun tritium sights $86.21 Brownells

Wilson mag extension $42.00 Brownells

Vang oversized safety $7.00 Brownells

It still needs a Surefire forend.

the hs model 10's have been out of production for 20 years or so. I got an email from a guy making mag extensions last year. He wanted 250.00 for a +2 extension. at 125.00 per round i think i'll pass. If i need more than 5 rounds of buckshot and 2 pistol mags inside my house i am in WAY over my head anyway.

Mossberg 590A1, ghost ring, Speedfeed stock, Surefire, sidesaddle, Giles Sling.

19 rounds of 12gauge goodness.  And a damn good club too, if you run out of shells.
