I want to build a Saiga 7.62 and use a Bulgarian 24mm Gas Block/Sight combo. I can not SBR the rifle and was thinking of a slip over type brake that would go over the barrel. I can't find any I like, I'm debating on talking my friend in to making something for me. He has a mill/lathe in his basement. Anyone out there make their own brakes? I want something similar to a AK 74 style brake so the large side ports would have to be beyond the crown.

I've made a few brakes.  2 things to remember, concentricity and bore size are key.  Other than that I don't see any problems.
