Wouldn't a gun manufacturer know better? Maybe they contract out their web design.......

You'd think they would know better. They do know better, their customers don't. Same with Marlin. |

They could have done that intentionally to make it easier for people to find them. Search terms and all that.

I gots one of them there magazine clip devices from remington.
No really I have one, they come with a free gun. |
|
There should be a mandatory pre-SHOT orientation meeting with all exhibitors, explaining the difference between clips and magazines.

Remington's marketing team/website guys have to make it easy for all kinds of people to find what they're looking for on the site.

Ad says magnesium. There aren't any magnesium smelters left in the U.S. due to a tariff change a few years back. Buy something American.
I can't even find a price on them. What retailer are you using? |

Arfcom may not like it, but that's how it is. A clip and a magazine are the the same thing, whether it's technically correct, or not. |

Looked at their site. Somebody really fucked up. Emailed them and complained.
Hello, A subject was brought up on a large firearms forum I frequent about errors on your website regarding magazines. You have them described as "magazine clips". A magazine is not a clip. Why would you do this? Hopefully you will correct this and stop reinforcing ignorance in the shooting community. If you could respond, it would be most appreciated. Thank you. Mike |

You nancy's need to calm down about this magazine/clip thing. It is correct that magazines and clips are two different things that serve two different purposes, but the term "clips" is a common slang form of magazines. "OMG! look! someone used slang!!!!!111!!0011!!!"
Lets make a avalanche out of a snowflake |

Well good job, thank god someone took the time to email them!

After two years in the army, I've gotten used to magazines being referred to as clips.
I even slip every now and then. It doesn't really bug me anymore, and everyone knows what your talking about. |

They could have done that intentionally to make it easier for people to find them. Search terms and all that. This guy gets it. Notice how the product description contains BOTH terms. Why lose the revenue from all the people who would otherwise come up with an empty search result and simply go to their local gunstore and buy as many "clips" as they want? As a business, you cannot choose whether your customers are ignorant, but you can choose whether you meet their needs as THEY define those needs. Ask any guy running one of those ridiculously profitable title loan stores on the seedy side of town. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

how much?....don't really give a fuck what someone calls magazines. As long as the price is right the the merchandise is quality.

My AR does not take clips My AR magazines do though! |

This is one of the silliest arguments on this site. Anyone who as left the house knows that "clips" has become interchangeable with "magazines" in common use. Sure [pinky finger in the air] it is not technically correct, but everyone knows that is meant by the term.
If I was Remington I might very well think to myself that my mostly hunting customer base is used to calling them clips and if that's what they call them that's what I'll call them on the website.
